Yup, you read that right. Not just the best Corvette, but the best Chevy ever made -- in the 100-plus year history of the company.

Perhaps they could have been, but to be brutally honest, NO (their not) !!
With regard to Corvettes, I firmly believe the LS3-equipped C6s are the very best, to date !!

Just got back from the Spring Mountain class and it was specially asked about problems with the Z06 and problems with the auto.
The instructors said the only have problems with the Z06's occasionally during the hottest times of the summer.
The instructors did admit that A8 tended to overheat if you left it in "auto" mode or consistently let it blip off the rev limiter before shifting.
They had everyone put the A8 in manual mode and made sure they shifted properly.
For the record there were no issues with either Z06's or A8's while I was at Spring Mountain. (temps never got above 86 degrees)

If you look across GM's line these days, they are all pretty damn good. Sign of a healthy company that is making good profits and reinvesting in product.
If you remember, the C7 was developed during the bankruptcy and record high fuel prices. It's really amazing it's as great as it is. It's as if they were betting the company on it's success.

What do you mean by BEST ?
Fastest ?
most reliable?
nicest ride ?
I think it's close to being the best one for now... but wait until next year or the year after, there is always something better in the pipe comming... otherwise why would anyone stop buying them ?

Best? Sure, as soon as they "finish it". Majority of Journalists who have reviewed the car cant all be wrong when they sum up the car. Overheats, and extremely challenging at the limit.

...I'd take the LS7 or LS9 over the LS3...thank you.

I've had mine for a month, and by the time my mods bump the hp up 100 or so, this will be everything I've ever wanted in a car. People can't even fathom the 2nd gear pull when they ride with me.

I'm not sure how it can be considered the best Chevy ever. In the case of the A8 version it has an inherent design flaw that prevents you from being able to track it without worry. GM hasn't done enough (anything?) to address that issue, and I have to believe they would have run into the same problem during all the testing they do. I just can't see how you can consider it the best when GM released it with what appears to be an obvious design flaw.
Very good? Sure. Best? Fix the cooling so that an owner that tracks it can drive it like he stole it and get back to me.

Let me get this straight a C6 is is a superior car to a C7 ZO6??? All C7 ZO6s overheat and fail on the track?? Every A8 fails on the track??
Wow I better trade mine in ASAP!!!!
Oh wait... every negative poster does not even own one!!! Funny how that is...
I think Ill keep mine ..... or better yet maybe my 06 Trailblazer was the best Chevy or was it my 68 Z28....im so confused

No doubt it is the BEST!!! I take some time to warm up to a car. I've loved every Corvette I've owned and have recently warmed up to the 16 Z.
When I look at the technology, the quality and the image of the car it's bad ***.
I took delivery late July last year. A month later at mid ohio I saw a friend blow an engine on his 16. I thought why did I buy this car, I had a 14 with 19K miles on it and it was problem free. Now I got a Z and they are problematic. But know what? All my subsequent track time has been a blast in the Z, as it was in the 14.
The post above from Spring Mountain tells it all. There are no issues with this car on the track if you follow procedures. Yes there are some that are lemons. That happens with all models.
But for a Chevy at these price points......... my goodness what an American success story!!!
