Default Storing targa top question?

Do most of you close the release handles on the roof when you store it in the trunk?

I did the Velcro on the forward receiver fix and that greatly reduced the noise, but I noticed intermittent noise which I suspected was the rear latch, today I closed that when stored and the noise is virtually gone but it seems that the closed latch may rub on the rear inside trunk panel.

What do you guys do with the rear latch when storing it? Should I be closing the front latches too when storing?

I never closed the latches when I owned my C6 coupe. I went with a C7 convertible, no more targa roof problems.

Never closed the latches on the C6 or now the C7.
I had to use the Velcro in the C6 but so far haven't had to on the C7.
But in the C7, the top snaps in quite bit tighter than it did in the C6.

So nobody hears any rattling from an open rear latch while stored in the trunk? I was happy to have figured it out, but now I'm not so sure...

Does your rear latch dangle loose while unlatched? I guess I'll need to ask the Corvette Tech to take a look next time I have it in, cause I have nothing to compare it to...

I've had a C5, C6 and now a C7. Never closed the latches on any of them while stored in the back and never had any rattles.

Ok, I have to admit I've not removed my targa top (yet) since taking delivery this past November.

I'd say this could be why it's rattling around.
It's spring loaded and should Not be loose in the open position.

Thank you Angela. I do not have a service planned at this point, so it might be a while. If the dealership is not helpful, I will certainly be in touch as, judging from the responses, here, I seem to have a loose (when unlatched) rear top latch and the rattling while stored is quite noticeable.

Thanks again!

It's definitely my rear latch. I stopped at the dealer on my way home tonight and checked one on the showroom floor. When disengaged it does not wiggle or make noise. Mine wiggles side to side and makes noise when disengaged.

I will call service department and see if I can bring it by for them to look at quickly to order the part as I'm not fond of multi-day stays or multiple visits just to wait for a part. Hopefully, they will do that...
