Thanks, friends. It could always be worse. I learned last night that my business attorney is facing the total loss of his home and five cars today. I grew up with their kids and spent time over at their house on many occasions. It's hard to imagine...they have lived there around 40 years had never flooded before.

I hope the total the car - with all the wiring and electrical stuff, whatever they fix will start to fail 2-3 years down the road; and no one in their right mind will ever buy a car with a flood title.

Jeremy, so sad to see this. I so enjoyed being parked next to your beautiful car at the NCM last year. It has been an inspiration to us all. Best of luck for a good resolution and a great Corvette future!

The bad news...the heaviest rain in the storm is headed our way. The good news...it's moving rather quickly compared to yesterday's storm that produced the flooding.

Sorry to hear about your situation. The bright side is you're OK. That always seems like the right thing to say when some ones car gets totaled.
In all seriousness, the water damage probably isn't as bad as it seems. I know some will say it will never be right or will have lots of issues down the road however you are lucky in the fact that it was fresh water. What really does damage in floods is SALT water flooding. It might as well be flooded in battery acid as the salt water will eat away the car forever.
There really is very little that should be effected by the fresh water from an electrical and mechanical point of view. The cosmetics are what took the biggest hit. Seats, carpet, door panels, etc. A serious cleaning and disassembly with a good warm area with a dehumidifier would do wonders.
I wouldn't hesitate to fix what you have if you can keep the title clean.

Wow sorry to hear this bad news. Your Vette was a beauty before this disaster not sure what mods you had planned but I am sure they were special. Good luck with the insurance settlement.

Jeremy,
I'm sadden to see this happen to you and one of the best looking C7's here on the forum. Looking forward to the next iteration of car. I hope all works out for you, and with little difficulty.

I have a close friend who is an OK native and still lives there. Some of the storms he has described are well beyond what any of us outside of the state can imagine. I hope you get fair treatment for you special car, and IMO the insurance carriers should replace it as water damage is difficult to fully assess and sometimes takes years to show the impact.
Start new, an you'll know you will not have water damage issues.
Now how to get that Velocity Yellow on the new car...

So sorry to see your photos. Let's hope your car is totaled. With all of the electronics under the water line, I would think it would cost thousands to replace them. I think flooded cars get a salvage title.

So sorry to hear about the damage to your Vette, your car was unique and I have been following it's saga since it arrived.
I hope you will be satisfied with the final settlement, and that a new yellow GS is in your future.

That is really too bad. As soon as I saw the plastic and what looked like a water line on it, I knew what you were going to write. I also think the restrained words you used on suppliers of aftermarket parts is commendable. I don't know how any major manufacturer requiring lots of parts from different sources keeps their sanity. The aftermarket for parts has been UN-timely for years, and some companies just limp along like that, making a living, doing their "thang" which affects you.
As to the car, I hope it comes out all right. The water line looks maybe like it didn't damage engine/trans, but I could be very wrong on that. I also think there are still a lot of "electronics" down low enough to be affected and even tho fresh water is not as bad as saltwater, it isn't good. If anyone wants to test that statement, throw your computer, tv or phone in the tub full of water--but don't be standing in it--and see how it works after.

Best wishes to you and everyone else impacted by the weather.
I'm sure it will all be great in the end with this or a replacement car. Hopefully it isn't too painful getting there.

As a former So Cal resident for many years, flood damage would be the last thing I would ever worry about. Your post serves as a pretty grim reminder of the rainfall threat that so many people have to contend with.
You have a great attitude. I hope you have a speedy resolution to this!
