A “different” Corvette seat question
A question you don’t often see on the forum. Most questions about seats are “how do I get my seat lower because I need more room. I have the opposite question. My wife is 4’ 10” tall and has to sit on a cushion to drive our C7.
For those of you who have had the seats out of your car, or those who are knowledgeable about the construction of C7 seats. Are the bolts that hold the seat to the floor long enough to put spacers below the seat to raise the level of the seat? And if there is room for spacers could this be done without interfering whit the normal operation of the seat?
I asked my dealership about it and they said they could not modify the seat due to “liability issues” but I am wondering if adding spacers to raise the seat is possible and something I could just have someone else do?

First, the dealer cannot legally do this.
Second, how tall are you? If you move the seat mounts a few inches forward, can you still fit?
Third, can she reach the steering wheel with the seat far forward? If so, you can fabricate pedal extensions.
I had a friend who was maybe 5-2 or so and drove a 911 with pedal extensions... no problem... these could slip on and off in a few minutes.
Personally, jury-rigging seat mounts could present serious safety issues in a collision... not to mention insurance liability from interfering with safety systems.

Apparently, this is a more complex issue than I thought.

I would be scared that using washers would weaken the strength of he bolts. That wouldn't be good if you were an accident. I think just buying another cushion would be the safest bet.

People used spacers in 2004 to 2006 Jeep Wranglers when they lowered the seat for those years. Kits were sold with nylon like spacers and grade 8 bolts. Maybe there is a opportunity for something like that.

The seat is very adjustable. In addition to raising the seat, the seat bottom tilts - raise the back of it up. Also, the steering wheel goes in and out, and up and down. It takes time to get everything just right!

CAN you add washers? Sure, that could be done really easy actually.
SHOULD you do it? Probably not, due to crash concerns regarding the seat bolts. I would look for a cushion that's better/easier to use if you can't get the seat adjustments to work. Also, maybe you could find a setting that works for you with the cushion, so you never have to remove it.
