Well not exactly gouges. But little blemishes that can be felt with your fingernail.
At $1k a piece for new ones I was hoping these could be saved. They just look sh*tty when you get very close.
If I swap them , will clear bra effect visibility if i have them wrapped?

It depends on how deep they are... If just superficial nicks, then possibly. Otherwise, no...

On a related issue had anyone used LaminX on their headlights?
About $60 and supposedly self install is not too bad.

I had X-pel film installed on my 2015 headlights when I had other parts of the car covered. After numerous Texas back road cruises over almost two years both headlights show several rock dings. Hopefully most are only in the film and not the headlights.

I don't know if there's still a coating on the plastic, but I'd bet there is. There's a FL fellow over on C6 name "RLSebring". He re-does C6 headlights. Might give him a note to ask if he's done, or is familiar with C7s.

Nice thing about the LaminX is that it is pretty thick. I had it on several BMWs and it worked well. I am seriously thinking about a set for my C7.

There is a UV coating on the headlight lenses to protect the polycarbonate from UV rays. NG UV coating is responsible for the yellowed headlight lenses you see on many vehicles. Polishing or sanding the UV coating will cause more harm than benefit. And while their are kits available to polish yellowed lenses, my experience with daughter's car is that it needs to be repeated about every 4 months. In essence, my recommendation is to not polish or sand lenses at this time.

^^^ You can always spay an UV inhibitor, or apply a wax, polymer, or equivalent with UV protectors. It wouldn't deter a remedy, if applicable, based on this alone...
Furthermore, it's a good idea to apply something on them anyway... if not only to aid in cleaning debris, i.e., bugs, tar, etc., from the headlights.

About three years ago, I purchased a kit from Griot's that included several sandpapers and a spray for refinishing headlights. You sanded them down and then sprayed the lenses with the clear. Then, it was left to bake in the sun. It hardens and looks great. Now, three years later, it still looks perfect! I think it includes a UV protectent.
