I didn't see any cloaks and daggers...but when a friend tells you something and says there are some things that can be shared and some things that can't, I'm loyal to the friend and only share what has been approved to be shared at that time. I can neither confirm nor deny any allegations so as to preserve the integrity of my "Guess the Change" contest. The one change will be revealed soon, though!

Must be getting really close now.

My guess is you deleted R8C Museum delivery and went instead with the Buyer's Tour and Photo Album.

How long does it typically take to receive a Vin after the deposit and order have been made? Thanks.

VIN is available approximately 1 week prior to assembly. If a dealership has an allocation available, an order can be placed and the car built in as little as four weeks or so. Allocation availability, constraints, etc., can impact that greatly, however.

I'm about to drive over to the Bowling Green Assembly for the first day of my buyer's tour where I will watch the assembling of my 2017 Grand Sport! Fair to say, I'm pretty excited!

After losing my 2014 Stingray in a flash flood on Sunday, June 12, I eventually decided to replace her with a 2017 Grand Sport.

On Monday, June 21, I called Mike Furman and gave him the specs for my 2017 Grand Sport order. The following morning I received a copy of the preliminary order detail with the order number and Event Description 1100 - Preliminary Order Accepted. The following posts will document the journey from order to build to delivery.

I'll start with the Grand Sport as I am having it built. Of course, there will undoubtedly be another "build" thread posted after I take delivery and start the process of modding it.

Model Year: 2017
Model: 1YW07 - Corvette Grand Sport Coupe
PEG: 3LT - Package: 3LT
Trim: 195 - Trim, Leather, Jet Black
Primary Color: GC6 - Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat
Transmission: MEL - Trans, 7-Speed Manual with Z51 Ratios
Sorry you lost the 2014 in a flood. Your GS color combo, M7 GS is one of two pics I have on my computer screen background as what I will replace my 2014 with in 2017! Would also get the black wheels, which I have now.

The other combo is Sterling Blue but will have to see it in person before a final decision. My C6 was a Velocity Yellow Z51 with black interior and gray wheels, the option in '08. Liked it very much.

Best of luck.

I have so much to say about my buyers tour but will have to do so later. I left the plant at 3 p.m. and have to be in Oklahoma City for a 5:30 a.m. flight tomorrow morning to the east coast for the weekend in Carlisle. For now, enjoy these photos!
