Default USB Music Issue

Sorry if this has been addressed before, I searched and didn't find anything on point.

I have '15, Z51, 3LT. I moved to Germany last November and right before I left I had the PDR software updated. All seemed well on the drive to Texas to drop off the car, but when it arrived in German I found that the 16GB USB thumb drive I was using for music no longer worked. I was busy for a while and didn't drive it much due the winter weather. Long story short, it started working again after 3 -4 days of driving.

About 2 weeks ago it stopped working again, but in a weird way. It reads that the drive is there, but only 1 song is available (it has 10 GB of music). My SD card and iPhone via Bluetooth work fine. I've scanned the drive for errors, but none were found. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and if so, how did it get fix? Dealer service over here is limited, so any help would be appreciated. Could the software update have anything to do with it?

It could be the drive or USB port are bad. Do you have another drive you can try? Does that drive work in any of the USB ports? You could start there if you haven't tried that yet.

My '15 did the exact same thing and this is what fixed mine. I got this info from the 'other' forum. Credit to that poster there.

OP: Sure hope you can find a dealer in Germany that can fix this issue if you can't do it yourself. Maybe around the Ramstein/Landstuhl area where there are still a lot of Americans. Maybe they have seen this issue before. Good luck.

Sorry, I've busy and didn't get a chance to try this until yesterday, but it worked like a champ. Thanks

If you haven't already, try a different brand of flash drive.
