2014-17 Tops, Any differences?
I'm in the market for an extra black or silver top to supplement the acrylic one on my 2016 C7. I realize I may have to settle on one from a different year, or a different color and have it painted. Anyway, just want to confirm that the tops for all the model years are interchangeable? Would that be correct?

As mentioned, there was a hardware upgrade on late '15+, but the roofs are still interchnagable. The improved hardware helps to minimize squeaks and creaks.

Can you detail the changes? Can the earlier roofs be updated to incorporate them? Anyone know if the updates were that effective? I haven't noticed any squeaks out of my acrylic top.

The strikers on the windshield header are revised. On the roof side the pins are changed to a different material. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-bulletin.html
The pins are easy to change if you buy an earlier roof and feel the need to upgrade.
I have a 16 with the revised design and have never had an issue with roof noise. I bought a transparent roof off of an early 15 for a great price. I was going to put the new style pins in it if it squeaked. So far, I have no reason to change them as the roof has had no noise issues.

Even if its an older roof any owner who is on top of their maintenance will have the updated materials. Both of my '14 roofs had the new hardware added under warranty. Easiest way to tell is to look for white (vs. black) pins at the front of the roof.

This is correct, in the case of the roof I bought, the previous owner was not on top of his game and it still has the black pins. However, I couldn't pass on an unused transparent roof for $650.
