Default What's that rattling noise

Anyone else have a rattling noise when accelerating? My 2014 2Lt does this and no one can tell my why. So please let me know if this is something the 2014s are doing.

It could be several things... simplist might be your passenger seat belt hitting the door... more common reasons: targa top, dash, etc. Maybe a passenger can help you pinpoint the noise. Good luck as rattles can be very frustration and difficult to find.

Thanks, the seatbelt is ruled out its not in the cabin. I thought it was the hood vent...

I have the same problem I noticed that if you do drive the car when in the cold you're gonna hear the rattling. what i do is just rev it all the way up for a couple of gears and you'll be fine. and don't drive in a higher gear than you need to be for fuel econ.

hope that helps.

How is the hood vent secured? The vents on the Mustang were secured with clips so while they could move (slightly) they never rattled.

First thing I'd check is to open the hood and make sure everything is tight and secured. Could really be anything. As someone else mentioned, there's so much plastic in ALL cars that even the best built cars are going to have buzzing noises, rattles, etc. over really rough roads.

Hell, the engine cover could be a bit loose causing it.

I once spent two weeks looking for an annoying as hell rattle in my car and then one day I opened the glove box and realized it was the locking lug-nuts vibrating over rough roads. lol.

Thanks everyone. I'm gonna try everything happy to learn the rattle is happening to others as bad as that sounds but now I won't freak out everytime I drive.

This is an excellent question. Do you know what "pinging" sounds like? Some of these cars have been known to "ping", ...even on the best normally available gasoline. If it sounds roughly like marbles rattling around in a tin can, have your dealer check it out.

Check where alloy/plastic meet around radio.... it can rub.. lil' piece of felt for me and quiet interior....

2nd Vette and super quality/design for both, IMO.

My 2016 is tight as a drum not a squeak or rattle anywhere. I hope it stays that way, very annoying if U have them.

The first thing I would do is take everything out of the car and I mean everything in every cubby under both seats in the glove box in the doors in the dash, clip the safety belt. Then take it for a drive then start looking elsewhere

Default Rattle vibration

Check all exhaust. Possibly muffler internals. Keep us posted.
Thanks, Al V.
