As a first time Corvette owner, I am surprised how comfortable the car is for long drives. Not my first sports car, but my most comfortable!

Well.... never mind. That's not surprising.
Good one Frodo -- I absolutely agree

I've driven 5600 miles in 14 days, loved every minute of it. Well, maybe not the AHs that drive slow in the fast lane. The car fits well and rides nice, firm but not rigid feeling. Wifey got tired of it though. She drives a crossover suv and doesn't like the "fall in, climb out" routine of low slung sports cars. She's a keeper with that one small flaw.

I was surprised how quickly the rear end recovers after breaking loose. If the rear of the C5 broke loose on a hard turn, I had to get out of the throttle completely to bring it back. Feathering the throttle only prolonged the agony of not hooking up. The C7 recovery is very fast with only a little feathering of the throttle, no need to get out of it. Sort of like dirt tracking it. First time this happened, I thought I just got lucky. Second time I realized that's the character of the C7, it handles like I want it too.

I am surprised at how narrow the space between the bolsters is on the seats as my left thigh winds up on the side of the bolster and is uncomfortable. I am not a big guy either. That is my only complaint with the car.

Other than one flaw in the paint that I have to search to find, I have no complaints about this car at all. I even like that my mode selector **** is smarter than me. Of all the cars and trucks I have bought in my life, the Corvette quality is the closest to perfect of any. Not a rattle or squeak or ripple in the leather.

Given the complexity of shoving so much technology into so small a package, I am very pleasantly surprised that a grumpy old guy like me has yet to find a reason to bitch about the car.

There seems to be a large amount of noise out there that sports cars increase testosterone.

Here is a search for that:

And a special shout out to this Wired magazine article which says that women get extra testosterone from sports car exhaust sounds:

Surprise ... Two years 18,000 miles trouble-free! That was NOT true of my C6.

The C7 accelerator pedal "effort" adjusts based on what mode you are in. If you're in Tour mode it takes more foot in the pedal, but put it in track you get fast acceleration with far less accelerator movement.

Thanks for your reply.

It's a fascinating topic; testosterone production, anti-aging, etc. I had read about this before.

They've found a number of items increase, temporarily, testosterone production. the biggest producer for those of us who are middle-aged, is, apparently, and not a shocker, an affair with a beautiful woman. This apparently sends hormone levels through the roof for years, whether you are caught or not. (If you are caught, I'm sure there's also a flood of stress hormones.)

So what? There is strong, compelling research that claims that any surge in blood testosterone levels has a dramatic anti-aging effect. I share this for the chrome guys

However, there's many physical benefits including a stronger immunity system, significantly more optimism and determinism, better over all health, etc.

Side topic; via "sexual selection" (found to be *far* impactful then natural selection over short times), women have selected for men with more testosterone to the point that it often impairs our health. Side effect of high sex hormones, for men, is a shorter life span to the negative impact to the cardiovascular system. (estrogen has large benefits on hearth health).

Yeah, women have sexually selected for competitive, angry men, perhaps linking their arousal to exotic cars. So, if you do cheat and get caught, make sure you explain that women made you this way (because there's truth to that.)

Anyway, back to my nerd job.

Press the temperature number and all the climate control settings display on the bottom of the screen. Tap again to make it disappear.

As an adjunct to this aspect of the discussion:

Alcohol causes testosterone to convert to estrogen

Women Should Drink Beer, Men Should Drink Wine
http://renegadehealth.com/blog/beerwine

I didn't find anything about what happens to testosterone when you eat quiche.

FWIW, my SO is a wholistic MD and she maintains that beer bellies in men are actually a pregnancy-simulation reaction to the heavily increased estrogen in beer drinkers. Note the common additional side effect of gynecomastia as well (man *****).

No wonder you're scared to turn off traction control.

I don't get it. I don't drink, I don't drink beer, I don't have a beer belly and I don't have gynecomastia.

I do have a sense of humor though, so you if you'll kindly explain your joke to me, I will laugh heartily.

I'm surprised at how many compliments, thumbs up, stares, and pictures that are taken of my LBR Z06. I've had over a hundred cars and many were Corvettes. This gets more attention than any of them.
