Need help with the PDR.
Brand new vette owner so no making fun of me for asking dumb questions.
I installed a SD card in the SD card slot and my display still says I need to install a SD card.
Is there a way to reset the system? Or am I doing something wrong here?
Bought a brand new 64GB card.
Anyone have any thoughts here?

I am using a 64G Sandisk 80ms SD. I formatted for Fat32.
I believe I had a problem using the WIndows, Properties, Format-Option.
I used a 'Command' Window. Press the Windows-Flag Key + R, type 'cmd'.
My laptop had a SD card slot. You may have to use a USB to SD adapter.
Insert the SD, mine showed the SD as Drive: D
In the CMD window, type Format D: /FS:FAT32
( change D: to the correct drive-Id)
Follow instructions.

I did format the card to a FAT32 format.
And still nothing.
Another post on FB says the 32GB cards or smaller seem to work better.
The larger cards give people issues apparently.
So im gonna try a 32GB card next.
Unless someone has another suggestion.

Have the same issue, lol. Been a problem for a while, but I haven't had the opportunity to track it with the covid headaches of the last year and kinda forgot about it. Haven't tried reformatting the card yet, maybe I'll give that a try this week.

Guys n gals, I'm wondering how to download an event that happened out on the highway that I have saved on my PDR?
Thinking there must be a YouTube tutorial on it?

If someone would buy a SD card and install it in there car to verify that it works,
then mail to it me so I can see if it works in my car. I would gladly pay them for the SD card,
the shipping, and a little extra for their time and effort. I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks all.

Make sure the card is not write protected. It is easy to move the switch disabling recording when inserting the card into the slot in the glove compartment.

From the owner's manual:
To begin, insert a FAT32 formatted
SD card, Class 10 required, 8, 16,
or 32 GB recommended, into the
glove box SD card reader.
Class 10 is the read/write speed. Class 4 is too slow. Note that FAT32 format is limited to 32gb or smaller SD cards or drives. There are many 3rd party utilities that will format larger SD cards as FAT32. I had a 1 TB SD card working for a while.
SD cards larger than 32 gb will NOT be formatted FAT32 when you buy them and will not work in the PDR even though they will work on a PC.
To check how a card is formatted on your PC: Open Windows Explorer, right click on the SD card and note the format. If 32gb or smaller, you can format as FAT32 if needed. You will need to use a 3rd party utility to format SD cards larger than 32 gb as FAT32.
Note that a 32gb card will hold over 11 hr of recordings - so I just use a 32 gb card and carry a spare.
(For those with 2014 / 2015 - the console slot for an SD card is for media. The card can be formatted FAT32 or NTFS)

Make sure the write protect switch on the left side of the card is slid forward toward the contacts - unlocked.

If no one has mentioned, FAT 32 maximum formatting is limited to 32 Gig drives. If you want to format it in Windows you'll have to download 3rd party software. Here is one:

The PDR files on the SD card are numbered so you can tell when they were recorded. For example, here is file name of one of mine: 190329_113327_00002_ , This stands for March 29th, 2019 11:33 AM.
The actual file date/time shown in explorer is 03/29/2019 11:47 AM.
Almost forgot there will be two files on the card with that name but will have different file extensions. One of them will be the .MP4 video file extension and the other will be the .PNG picture file extension.
How difficult is this? Using a pipe wrench properly takes more skill.

I don't think there are any YouTube tutorials for basic PC copy operations. If you have an SD card slot in your PC plug the card in it and then use windows explorer to look at the files on the SD card and copy the file to any folder on your hard drive. If you want a new folder just click on new folder and one will show up in explorer and you can put a name on it. Explorer doesn't like names that aren't letters, numbers or dashes. If your PC doesn't have an SD card slot then purchase an SD to USB stick that you can use to connect the card to the PC through a USB slot.

I have a 256k Ultra formatted to FTA 32. If using Windows 10 you just download the program for FAT 32. It is not built in to windows these days. Mine works flawlessly

Here's the brand of SD card I got from Walmrt online, free delivery. 762 minutes IIRC. of recording capacity.
