Must have / Could do with out.
Serious thinking of moving up to a 2016 /2017. Went on GM web site and built car to what I think I want regarding options. Just curious what options you current C7 owner think are a must have and what options that you ordered that you could do with out. And why ? Thanks Dave

The only thing not in my signature below that I waffle over sometimes is the M7 (but most of the time I'm very happy I went A8) and the Z51 package. Of course 99.9% of all of this is subjective...oh and if money were no concern Z06
I was talked out of the dual roof package by two local Corvette Club members who told me their 2nd roofs sat in their garage or basements untouched after the first few weeks and that I should just think it through the and save the $, so I did, went transparent roof only and put that $ towards NPP, which I'm very glad I did.
Good luck and be sure to let us know what you decide.

Ventilated seats are nice when it's warm.
PDR is great for those can't miss moments.
MRC, in case you want to little more control over your suspension.
Imho
As I'm sure heated seats are when it's cold.

C7Jake car looks great. I. I . bruce fan being Springsteen fans were thinking a like I am planning on going with A8 and your comments about duel tops are the same thing I was thinking . Is it worth spending money on extra top when you can only use one at a time or in my case usually not at all. L8ter heated/ac seat are a must for wife and PDR and MRC is already marked down.
How do you do the quotes on your replies. NPP ?

I'd skip the carbon fiber dash. They didn't really put enough carbon fiber in for $1k. I like the look but just wish there was more. I'd like to see all the brushed chrome go away when choosing that option.
All the rest I'd get again (2LT, PDR, larger wheels/tires, carbon flash mirrors/spoiler, and blacked out badges.) I'd really miss not having the HUD now that I'm used to it - I think all cars should have it as a safety feature if nothing else.

scottsh I think your right about interior my 04 is red with black interior and I like the two tone look I think it breaks it up I thinking of going White with red / black interior. A8 ,2LT ,Z51 MRC ,PDR Chrome wheels ,red calipers , transparent top, battery protection package. Now you got me thinking about exhaust. Glad I did this thread to hear everyone thoughts.
Guess I will be searching inventory to see how close I can get to my wish list or go 2017

I bought a 2LT off the floor. Ended up with things I would not have if I ordered - BUT - I have come to appreciate those same things.
For example: Painted calipers, sueded inserts, and HVAC seats.
NPP I like conceptually, but waffled. I like it.
Also waffled over nav b/c my tomtom works quite well, and updates are free.
But the windshield space it took...THe integration is quite nice, it actually takes you to your waypoint, not just announces it as you drive by, turn points are more accurate that the tomtom. (Especially useful when there are a lot of turnouts in a short space)
HVAC seats and HUD: Never had them before, but really like them now.
I could do without Onstar, but XM, weather/traffic is ok if you don't mind haggling with them over price.
4g hotspot...meh.
Sueded seats are cooler in summer and warmer in winter, plus they help keep you from sliding across the bottom during spirited driving
PAinted calipers add a visual pop.

I love the hud, and I will never buy a car without power vented seat, I love the competition seat look but I'm a bodybuilder so I don't fit in them, nav is a must, I love the carbon roof, and black wheels are a must!! The recorder is a waste in my eyes, but everyone has there cup of tea!

All you really need is the Corvette. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

aj98 I also can do without XM I have adapter I use for my 04 so I can use my IPhone for music and I do really like the painted calipers.
The hud is part of the 2LT package right ? I don't find it as a single option on web. Going over the weekend to get brochure for 2017 if they are available
dadaporter you are right about all you need is the corvette . I still got a smile from buying my 04!!!
What about GMS anyone know the discount percentage ? I think supplier is 9 %

Yes the 2lt will get you hud, heated and cooled seats, nav. The z51's come with npp just a heads up. Also the z51's front brakes are bigger than base models.

Forget about the brochure, never saw one for the 2016's (other than the online version) and never received one despite several requests, just use the corvette.com online onfigurator or you can download 100 pages of RPO codes and try to decipher them
As to % off of MSRP, call the forum dealers, although that should be somewhat different between leftover '16s, incoming '17s for stock and a custom '17 order. I went though MacMulkin and had a great experience, but have heard great things about Kerbeck and Furman/Criswell.
