Why so many C 7's for sale
Just curious as to why there are so many C 7's for sale already? I know everybody likes to have the newest offerings etc. I have been thinking about getting one. But was just wondering if I am missing something. Its not like these cars are hard to get or anything. I drove by my 2 local Chevy dealerships and between the 2 dealerships they probably had about 100 corvettes or more. And it seems everybody is selling their Z 06's with low miles.

Could be a number of reasons:
Life changing event
Financial change
Tried the car, now wants something different
And there could be many others.

Corvettes are toys not basic necessities. They get bought last and sold first in most people's lives. You buy your Camry to get to work and keep it for 250K miles. Corvette slots between the Camry and the Ferrari, some of which get bought and sold before they are even driven.
People love to compare the performance of the Corvette to exotic supercars because of the capabilities but then turn around and compare the price and buy/sell habits to less expensive cars at the same time. I guess that's just where the car slots in the marketplace.
I also find it funny that this thread is common in every Gen section of the forum. I remember when it was C5s, then C6s, now C7s....why so many for sale? Like people expect them to be rare, appreciating supercars. The whole point of a Corvette is to be available to the common man!

What is your definition of "so many". Based on the number sold I do not think there is anything unusual about the number of C7's for sale.

I can't speak to other people but usually buy a different sports car every 3 to 4 years and it's usually a different color and brand but thay are always convertibles . Live is short

For a lot of people the Vette is still the middle-age buyers dream. My mother used to work for a Chevy dealer and she told me that often older men would come in and "finally" buy one, only to come in and trade it for a Caddy within weeks.

Average age of buyers for a new corvette is some where between 59 and 61 .Harley is having the same problem . Ford has had good results with 30 something buyers with the latest mustang.

I bought my 2014 in Phoenix in April '16. Used C7's were hard to find here and the ones that I found sold quickly. One reason I often heard was that the former owner upgraded to a Z06. (Not sure if I believe them but that was their story)

Melting Slicks
A Corvette is a 2-seat sports cat that starts at $57k, and can't ever serve as a family car, making it useless for may people in the ages 25-45 bracket with 1 or 2 kids; while a Mustang starts at $25k and can seat 2 smaller people in the back. I am not surprised Mustang is doing well with the younger crowd as it can be as practical as a Civic or Mazda 6 if your kids are between 1 and 12 years old; the Camaro is less so because it is harder to get in and out of and the trunk is much less usable.
