Default Infotainment screen

This has happened several times in my 2014 Z51 radio & navigation screen. Sometimes it will start flashing off and on. It happens sometimes when you first start it or if you are driving. I have tried raising & lowering the screen and slightly moving the screen with my hand but nothing works. Seems like I remember reading something about this but I can't find anything.
Anyone else had this problem ?

Yes, very common. There's a service bulletin on it. Just had my screen replaced on my 14 under warranty, Took them 45 minutes. Good to go.

not always a screen replacement, mine was just a loose connector, fixed at the dealership.

With my new 2016 Z06 the screen was dead at 76 miles. Was told they are on back-order. That was a week ago. Did not to leave the car with them. Actually, the screen comes on occasionally then goes off again - some intermittent connection...

My 2014 is in the shop with the same problem. The dealer is trying to get me a replacement unit. Won't know till monday if they can find one. Not sure what's going to happen. They said I might have to wait for one to be built

Mine a 2015 was in the shop for a week waiting on a new screen it would go blank and sometimes would come on and then go blank again, dealership said they were on backorder but hoped to have one in a day or two. It didn't come in yesterday so after a week I had them put my car back together so I could use it and the screen is working again. I have heard of people that have been waiting over a month with no shipping date for a new screen. GM's quality, service and parts availability really seems poor.

I've been waiting a month now for mine too. Service writer says the radio manufacturer doesn't have any, that they are "rare". This is really getting tiresome.

Like the old time TV sets with vertical hold problems, mine would then go black. Replaced and hasn't come back. Problem traced to manufacturing defects in the early models. Wouldn't figure that would happen with a 2016.

My dealer told me they had to take my unit out to get the #s off it to order the correct replacement unit. Has anyone else been told this?

I was told the exact same thing last week and it was apart a week with no shipping date for the new screen and I had them put it back together and now it's working again.

Here's what I experienced. 2016 C7. The screen and radio would turn on and off about once a minute. My phone would keep pairing. When the radio came back on, it would jump to a different station. Repeat , repeat, and repeat. The dealer had it over night and finally told me that as I have tons of music loaded on a flash drive plugged into one of the USB's, this was causing it. Starting the car with a drive loaded messed up the boot procedure for the radio. The quick solution is to start the car without the drive inserted in the USB, and then put the drive in. Everything is fine now, and they told me that the engineers are working on a fix. Irritating? Yes. A serious problem? No.

It has happened to me too. Screen when blank then came back on and flickered. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow (Monday) although it is working fine.

Results of the dealer visit is that a new screen is needed and is on back-order.

That's what I was also told. It took them two plus hours. They then told me they had to order the part. Two weeks and counting and no word from dealer yet.

Thankfully, I had taken a recommendation from another post and video'd the problem as the dealer at first told me there was no problem. Showing the service writer the video did the trick.

I was also told by the dealer that my 2014 was only the second vette they had seen with this issue.

I've had two screens replaced for that reason. Most dealers will try to either reset the connection or update the software. Both work for a few days/weeks. But eventually you will likely need a screen replacement. Only takes a couple hours at my dealer (but it takes a week or so for the part to come in, few dealers have them in stock.)

Took them 3 weeks to acquire a new screen - working perfectly now.

In case you haven't tried this when your screen is flickering (and others have reported this as well) - this is me honking the horn - watch the screen...

Mine 2015 screen was replaced three weeks ago for blanking out and it blanked out again two hours later after replacement was installed and in the last few days it started flickering and rolling before blanking out, took it back to the dealership and rescheduled for today because we were going to be out of town for a couple of weeks. They called within an hour of taking it in today and said to come get it and try it, they showed me where the USB cable was plugged into the HMI module in the driver side kick panel and you could barely touch it and the screen would start flickering and rolling, They secured the connection and wire tied it to the cable beside it and I have driven it over rough roads for the last couple of hours with no problems, hope this takes care of it.

Finally got mine replaced last month but the usb port behind the screen wasn't installed right and it's back in the shop to fix that. So far, the flicker is gone.
