a truck hit a small piece of metal flew up and hit my bumper in the oposite lane,

sometimes its not worth having nice things !!
do you think they can blend it in? or repaint the whole front bumper ?

What a bummer! Sorry for the incident and totally understand your frustration. I'm guessing it can be repaired to your satisfaction though. Just a shame you have to go thru the hassle. Hang in there.

Do you have paint protection on there? If so, peel it off. You may be surprised that things aren't too badly damaged and just need a nice session with the buffer.

When I first got my C7 and was driving on the Interstate, a truck threw a rock and hit my windshield. Fortunately it was very low and a small pit so plastic repair has held up for 2 1/2 years.
Between throwing rocks, 18 wheeler tire treads in the road and moving patrol cars with radar, hate driving on the Interstate! In fact when passing a truck I pull back into 4th from 7th, accelerate around them and quickly back to reduce truck and radar exposure (it's also fun!) Rev Match makes it perfectly smooth. Like the fact that with the C7 it goes right back automatically to my cruise control setting when I go from 4th directly back to 7th.

The damage is located on a curved area of the bumper. Also the area is low and there is a body line ridge, thinking a good painter will be able to blend in the paint and you will never notice the repair.

As long as the metal piece was in motion prior to you hitting it, your insurance will cover it (less your deductible). I had the same time happen with a truck tire; took out my splitter, hood bra and scuffed the front fascia

Sorry to hear that. I hate reading stuff like this. Post up a pic when it's repaired and looks new again....

yeah, sorry dude.
It happens to everyone who drives... at some point.
Which is a damn lie! I had 15 year old Accord. NOTHING. EVER. I have a mini-van. A MINI VAN! Not one scratch. Ever.
On my vette, I've hit the side of the garage with the mirror, forgot to latch the roof once and yesterday I found that I curbed, at some point, a front rim. Mini van, which has been driven everywhere, lots of camping, deserts, mountains, left in sketchy neighborhoods.. not a thing.
Sorry!

We feel your pain, and it only happens to the nice car that you love...
I had cars i didn't give a **** about... and nothing bad ever happened to them... and then there are some that are just ****-storm magnets!

You do an insurance claim and you will have a carfax on it. No way would I do that!!! I had similar damage on a night race blue 13........never expected the excellent results a local one man body shop performed.
You just need to find someone who is experienced and confident. The 2 who told you no..........They may not want to do the work because it really is a small job.
Is there a local corvette club around you? Good source of repair experiences with them.

Recently had a shipping cart ding in the wife's new BMW SUV. Had a fellow who does dent-less repair look at it and he said the odds are the paint would crack so get it done right! Had two estimates both said they would only paint the whole rear fender and over the doors as it was one pieces without a seam. It looks great. Her car was silver metallic and they matched the paint perfectly. I didn't use insurance since I have $1000 deductible and it was under that (not by much!) but also believe it will raise rates!

I'm in the car business and car fax is the biggest down sides to selling used vehicles, even if it's a minor claim and damage, it will say "accident" damage on the car fax, which reduces the value of your car.
