When I was young around 8 best guess I fell in love with the C3 and the C2 cars. Built plastic models of 57, 58, 63, 67, 70 (x2), 74 that I have to this day.

Right out of high school had an opportunity to buy a modified for autocross 66 convertible. It had some damage that could be easily fixed but the engine was in my eyes at the time a lowly 327 was sure I wanted a 427. Being young a corvette should have a bigger engine than my Jeepster (340).

Plus it would have taken every cent I had. Decided to use the money to go to school instead. Always dreaming of that Green 66.

Years go by and I did not respect the early C4's looks. Liked the C5 but had a new family. Tried C6's at the auto show but never seemed to fit in them. Plus to me they just looked a little off.

In 2014 helping a friend shop for a new Impala I sat in a C7 and went oh my. The next weekend my Wife and I took a road trip to see a Green C7 convertible and I was in love. But it was a fully loaded special edition pushing the high 70's. Eventually found a base model green convertible but in the end lack of interior space and bought of being practical we passed on the car. More being practical I also had to sell my green 54 Hudson Hornet and who knew how long that would take. Answer about a month to have three full price buyers.

The search was on for a used green 2014 with the right options over a year later I found the car for us. The right exterior interior combo with all the options I would have checked on the factory build sheet.

Back in the early 60's my neighbors son had a red 58, that's when I got hooked. Fast forward to 1968 and the Stingray just blew me away, never really cared for the 63. Sad to say it took until 2015 until I finally bought one [2015 Red Z51]. I like almost every year, including the C4, all awesome...

8th grade and saw it for the first time. Then in '63 that was it. I had to have one. Bought my first in 1979 (1978 - 25th anniversary). Damn, the new ones are soooo much better

I was a teenager and one of my customers on my paper route had a C3. The wife owned it and I told her how much I liked it. I had senior prom coming up and she said I was reliable from great paper delivery for the previous 5 years. She knew I mowed yards so she said if I mowed her yard all summer I could have it for prom. From that point on I was hooked on Corvettes. 13 years later I got a 1998 Black Coupe, then a 2001 Silver Z06 then a 2004 Z06 then last year took my kid to do the Factory Tour of my C7 Z51 Coupe and then R8C with a drive back to Seattle! We were in Badlands about right now last year.

I loved cars as a kid growing up - read C&D and R&T religiously, so I thought they were nice - but just like today. most car magazines are lukewarm to Corvette and trip all over themselves for anything Porsche builds, so I thought a Porsche would be my dram car.
My father was a car salesman all his life, and in the mid-1970's he worked for a Chevy dealership. back then they had demo cars, and he brought home a 1974 Coupe for the night (I think it was the dealerships GM demo car). It was awesome and it was a far cooler car then I had ever been in, which got me started loving Corvette.
I bought my first Corvette in 1985- a 1973 Coupe in Elkhart Green with a beige leather interior with the LS6, M21, A/C and most of the power options with just 35,000 miles on it for $4,500. It was a weekend car, and I have owned a Corvette as a fun car pretty much (when replacing my old one with new, I typically would sell my old car in October and order the new one for an April delivery) ever since.

For me it was riding "shotgun" in my cousin's '61 roadster. I knew someday I'd have to own one. For me that was 7/10/10, a wait of over 40 years.

Lime Rock green with 3LT kalahari interior. I found this color combination irresistible.

I've told this story here a few times, but it some here night not have seen it.

In 1953 I had a paper route and a doctor on my route actually won a 1953 Corvette on a TV show. (both were pretty new to the world) He parked that car outside and I saw it everyday as I delivered the Des Moines Register daily, early in the morning. I was 8 years old and the car fascinated me from the first time I saw it.

My first 'Corvette' was actually a Schwinn Corvette. Schwinn named many of their bikes after popular cars of that era. I bought a brand new Schwinn using my paper route many and other cash I had accumulated from shoveling snow and other tasks a kid that age does to make a bit of cash.

My first real Corvette was a 1964 convertible in Daytona blue with a white interior. I bought it in 1969. Since then I've own two C-2, a C-3, three C-5's (still own one) and a C-7.

A few years back I found a rusted out old Schwinn Corvette while attending the Old thresher's reunion in Mt. Pleasant Iowa. I bought it for a few backhand took in home to Tennessee and did a 'frame off' restoration on it.

Corvette have been a part of my life since 1953.

My first Corvette was just cool not fast at all just cool and I could pickup
a lot of girls in that car even with just two seats.

The L82 was just a **** poor engine in 1973. No power wouldn't and couldn't spin a tire The car had no speed over 125 was dangerous. My car only had 40,000 on it.. But the body and ride was cool.
Had it for a few years.

5.0 Mustangs were faster. Corvette was not thought of much again after the 73.
Looked at and drove a 1984 but passed. Next Corvette was after about 3-4 Camaros and 2 firebirds. The Firebirds and Camaro's did me well
till I bought a 2002 Z06 and I have had a 2006 Z, 2008 Ls3, 2008 Z 2009 ZR1. 2014 Stingray and a 2015 Z06.
Still have 2.

I was 21 years old in 1969. I graduated College. And, the first thing I did was order a new '69 Vette. Silver Coupe, 427/400 HP, four speed, side pipes. It was cool and fast. Nineteen Vettes later I am still hooked. Currently, driving a manual '10 GS. Getting ready to order a C7 Red GS. Of course, manual. For me nothing cooler, sharper on the road.

Never fallen in love with any car
was curious about them, had a few fun to drive and look at but owning another probably not. Too high maintenance for me. plus they just arent made for tall people;if youre in them all the time you almost get used to it if its an occasional driver its a pain. Helmet? no way

I was always a British car guy (Triumph, Austin-Healey, Aston Martin.) Though the C-2 Stingrays caught my interest when they first came out (and I had no money), I didn't pay much attention to Corvettes for decades. The C6 ZO6 with 505 hp started me looking again, and the C7 just pushed all my buttons. Took museum delivery of a '16 Shark Grey ZO6 Coupe, ZO7, M7.

For me, it was when I was 16 years old and my dads friend let me take his Yellow 1993 ZR-1 for a quick spin (that day a quick spin turned out to be about 2 hours). Luckily it was before cell phones were in every pocket, so no one could tell me to come back. I've been hooked ever since.

Figured I'd start a thread to take everyone else down memory lane. So, what made you fall in love with the "Vette?

I can remember it like it was yesterday.

Walking my normal route to a friend's house, saw a brand new red w/ black interior, 1963 split-window, 327 300HP automatic sitting in a drive way. Was like I was struck by lightning.

For the years it was owned by that person I'd walk past and dream that someday I'd own it. Never happened First one for me was a dark blue 78 L82 auto coupe w/ Oyster interior.

The magic of the looks and performance of "sports" cars captivated me as a young kid. The tv show Route 66 hooked me on corvettes. I grew up with camaro's starting with my first new 1968 Camaro my parents helped me buy as an incentive to be serious about doing well as I entered my first year of college. Since then I have owned four other Camaro's (could not afford a Vette), until my wonderful kids needed the room that only a SUV could provide. Finally could afford a Vette and with the kids education all taken care of and an "empty nest" home, my first Vette became a reality in 2008. Specifically I "fell in love" with the Corvette for the the sleek and unique styling, along with the performance, along with the "feel" of sitting behind the wheel and enjoying the spirited drive, handling, and sound with the NPP exhaust open. Add in my beautiful wife sitting in the passenger seat and sharing this experience, and I am a happy and lucky man.

I will go with the flow most of the time but when it comes to my fun ride it is all about individual choice. Corvette is just different with power to put a smile on your face and good looks to match. Makes me want to go for a ride so by for now.

For me, I was always hooked on cars..... my folks brought me home from Bethesda Naval Hospital in a new Jag they had bought at the factory and had shipped back to the states..... It was downhill from there.

First car I drove was my Dad's Triumph TR4 when I was about 12. Couldn't reach the clutch pedal to fully depress it so hop started it and drove around an old abandoned air strip with Dad in first gear

Rt 66 TV show, Beach Boy and Jan and Dean songs, and the fact that we moved into an affluent neighborhood in 1965 when my Dad retired. There were a number of Corvettes in the hood. My Dad laid out the facts of of life (for me) that just because we were moving there didn't mean I'd be driving a Vette too...... Had several VW's then a TR 6 when I was a senior in HS 1971..... but could never get the Vette out of my mind. My buddy had a '65 396 and other friends had Triumph's and Austin Healy 3000's.

I was just SO stuck on having a C2...... finally bought my first Vette in my mid 20's (1975) ...... a '65 Roadster.... 327/300. Numbers matching car. would kill to have that car back today. It was my daily driver, living in FL. Kept it 2 years. Married, no kids.

It wasn't till 1994 that I got back into Vettes. Did motorcycles and built several Street Rods in the late '80's and early '90's. Then missed having a Vette.

We're on #10 now with the '16 C7. Love it..... Only other one I still think about (besides the first C2) is the last Vette we had, a 60th Anniv 427 loaded. I like this C7 WAY better, but something about that 427, one year wonder keeps me smiling.
