I like a sports car, especially a clean sports car. Matter of fact I hate a dirty car, but I prefer living down a dirt road in the country even more than I like a clean car.
So basically I'm (fill in the blank).
I buy colors that show the least amount of dirt for as long as possible, and call it lovely.

An orange Corvette will sell slower (lower demand), but to a buyer who HAS to have orange, when he finally finds one (lower supply), he'll be willing to pay a higher price.
That make sense, doesn't it?

I can't even imagine what category "Black Rose" fits into.

Green? No way. GM couldn't sell them dropped the color right away. A friend works at Manhiem Actions and he hates to sell any green car because the used car market doesn't want them. I will say in 1967 Green was the number one color in sales.

DSOM Z51 here...because my wife liked it more than the Crystal Red...now there are 2 reasons I ordered it .
GM no longer has any "exciting" colors after deleting Crystal Red and DSOM
.Now wish I had ordered the Z06 DSOM after comparing pricing of GS.

I have bought many cars in the past colors that I did not and was not looking for. Would not ever buy another black car, bought 3 new black corvettes in the past and a few other black cars. Bought a new Yellow Corvette once and was not looking for yellow. I have even owned a Red car and did not want red but bought it. Now I am lazy so like to buy colors that don't look dirty within a few minutes after I wash the car.

Colors
All my Corvettes have been either red or yellow, except for the first blue one. I drove just under 500 miles for my C-7, because this time I wanted another red/red Vette.

to answer op question. What car? There definitely are exceptions, like Orange C6 cars, or Panama Yellow '58, but over the long haul, this is for sure.
Corvette? Red
BMW? Black

If I had to decide color on just resale value I would say the ones that sell the most. But I would not make a purchase decision based on that premise. Most color picks are initially decided by the dealership, not the end buyer.

If you trade you're typically looking at auction values (the dealer will go below figuring at least he can get that much) which are based on mileage and condition more than color. If you private sale like I do you'll likely find that you get the same price for most any color but some are harder to move than others. As to Black Rose I've actually found these sort of colors to move more easily at times because people are searching for it specifically. Hardest private sale I ever has was a matte M3. Want to taste pain, try and move a matte car. The dealers don't even want them and will make an offer so low as to P.O. the likes of Gandhi in the hopes that it wont be accepted. Will never go matte again.
