You can never go wrong with a red sports car. Always in demand.

The more rare colors and options will hold their value the most in the long run but not for those who trade every few years.

Totally backassward approach. You buy the color you like, to please yourself. You worry about resale value (which depends very little on color) down the road, when you sell the car. Whatever color you choose, some folks will like it, others won't. So, again, please yourself. Life (and business) 101.

For Corvette it's always been red, white, black. I think you will do a bit better at trade in time with these three.

To me, the kind of car a given color is on, makes a big difference.

While I might be inclined to buy a yellow, red or orange sports car, I would never buy a SUV, a luxury sedan etc painted those colors.

At first I wanted Green. apparently that doesn't depreciate much.
Then when that was gone I wanted orange. Apparently that doesn't depreciate much either.
Laguna blue would've been my 3rd choice.

All of those colors are gone so now I'm stuck with the average depreciating Black. Corvettes could stand to have more vibrant colors besides red and yellow. 2 colors I don't particularly care for on my car. admiral blue is pretty pedestrian, black rose is too dark a purple, and everything else is a shade of white.

Crystal red, dark reds, are higher,

In the C6 ZR1 community Orange seems to bring in the highest price because they are rare, especially Atomic Orange which was only made for the ZR1 in 2009.

But buy what you like not what the next buyer likes.
