Default Dorr Sill Plate protection for C7 Stingray

Suggestions on a device that will add some protection to the door sill plates on my C7 Stingray without it looking tacky.

Two options you can try.

- This is what I use & it works well. I leave the passenger side one on all the time & only use the driver side when taking in for service.

- Another option is to use a film to protect the sill, many types available online (i.e. XPEL, Cleartastic, etc)

I've used these in my C6 for years ad now have a new pair for my C7. Do a great job of protecting the sills. Easy to put on and take off and they stay in place. Very plain with no fancy script or engraving on them. Perfect for my needs.

I use Xpel. You can purchase in 6" width and any length direct from Xpel. Applied it myself.

I used Xpel too. I picked up this roll from Amazon, covered both sills and pretty easy to put on:

I did the same thing and I'm no expert. End result looks pretty good.

I got the those plastic covers as a gift. At first I thought they were very tacky. After using them for a while, I found that they work really well and I don't notice them that much. The only problem is that you do see the scrapes. It's a good idea to keep them clean so you don't see all the scrapes.

*door.

I just used a strip of 3M, works just fine and it was cheap however it's not a device, there are no moving parts.

I went with 6" since I started at the top of the sill and wrapped it around the two edges.

My choice, but both would work well.

I don't like being one of those **** types that has rules for passengers getting in and out of the car. It's bad enough that I don't allow farting with the windows closed.

Apparently for women in high heels (or at least my girl friend who raked her heel across the passenger side sill plate, the first time she rode in my C7). Glad it's covered in Xpel. I didn't say a word, even though I was standing right there holding the door for her and saw the whole thing happen.

BTW I hold that door to be a gentleman and also avoid ring scratches on the door handle "cove". I don't tell her that part either--my momma didn't raise a fool!
