Hmm, based on the color, it looks more like Shark Gray than Cyber Gray so it's a '15 or '16, not a '14.

Do you catch and release?

Of course! We never kill what we catch unless we are going to eat it...everything has a purpose.
The hook was in pretty deep so it took a while for us to get it out. We had to flip it over on its back, and watch for the stinger, and then flip it back over. I had to grab the sides and slowly walk it out into the water so it could swim back out on its own.

Last month took 16 year old granddaughter to Georgetown SC fishing with a guide and she caught two sharks (her goal) and hooked into a stingray with ~50+% larger "wing span" than the OP's. After 10 minutes she was warn out and the guide asked me to take the poll. I fought it for another 10 minutes and at one point the pole tip was in the water from being bent in a "U" shape. The guide said "one of you is winning, but it's not you!"
Finally wore it out and brought it to the side of the boat where he was able to get the hook out and let it swim away for another day!
