Default Phone Mount Accessory?

Hey Guys,

Anyone have any phone mounts they prefer?

I'm considering grabbing something as I prefer to use my phone's nav vs the car (1. Easier to enter address, 2. traffic overlays on google maps) I wish I could use siri to input an address into the car's nav because I do love the HUD directions but tapping out the address on the screen is inconvenient.

I don't like leaving it in the cup holder but I've honestly never purchased a phone mount for a car and am curious if any of you have any you really like in these cars.

Pro Clip mounts fit very well; have had them in several different vehicles without any complaints.

Pro Clip definitely......I love mine. The ProClip USA website has pics I believe. I use this in my C7 and I love it. It attaches to the, what I call, the passenger oh sh*t handle.

Here're three shots in my C7 showing my iPhone 6+ mounted vertically and horizontally and also a view showing the backside. I bought the ProClip phone mount that allows you to leave your phone in its case, i.e. the phone mount is adjustable.

Mark

iPhone 6+ with case in vertical position

iPhone 6+ with case swiveled to horizontal posiition

Backside of ProClip mount showing swivel ball and phone clip

Mark, thanks for taking the time to take the pics! Is that attached via 3m tape? I love the setup for it, doesn't look tacky and is in a great position for reading directions.

To answer your previous question, no, the mount doesn't use 3M tape. It uses a separate vehicle clip that clips onto the "oh, sh*t" handle, as ashetzel called it. The ball swivel and phone mount screws onto this vehicle clip.

I have the option on my mount where the apple lightning plug actually plugs into the mount. all I have to do is slide my iPhone 6 in the mount and it starts charging. no fumbling with the cord or anything. you have the option of choosing a mount that will fit a phone without a case or a phone with a case as well.

$20 Kenu Airframe, hands down. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00D901B4W/

Slips on the lip of the power port door and puts the phone at your fingertips. Get a flat 6" USB cord and a flush 12v adapter and plug the phone into the port. The phone will hide the cord. Cleanest install possible.

Take a look at this guy: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's not a permanent install, but hooks into the air vents.

Scosche MagicMount Power Universal Vehicle Mount, works well for me. Plugs into 12v console power and holds phone onto flexible arm via magnet. I put the very thin magnet on the interior backside of my iPhone case and it stays put until I lift it off the holder. A short 6" cable connects the phone to the charger.

If your car has auto play, just plug the phone into the USB port in the center console and leave the phone in the console. You'll have a better nav system and everything else in your phone playing thru the cars screen and system all while charging it.

If you want a simple, unobtrusive mount at perfect eye level, look no further than this magnetic vent clip (Aukey). It's available on Amazon for less than $10.
