Default Black Chrome Forgestars on DSOM

Hi,
I just wanted to share my experience with forum vendor Edgyvette and some photos. I bought some black chrome Forgestar wheels for my Z51 coupe from them. They shipped them quickly and the shipping was fairly priced. The wheels are awesome and completely changed the look of the car. Overall, a very pleasant buying experience.

After wheel change, emblem change and lowering on stock bolts:

Very nice car!
Question tho... where is the black in the "black" chrome? Looks like just regular chrome from these photos...

Thanks. It's not truly black, but it is darker than regular chrome. If I put a chrome wheel beside them, you can definitely tell a difference.

Nice wheels on a great looking colored car. When I went to order my 2015 the orange was not yet on the order list. I settled for SG which is not bad. The C7 looks great in all the GM colors.

Those look sharp! Excellent choice. I have yet to see black chrome in person, but I've come to the conclusion that pictures don't convey what it actually looks like.

Default Not Chrome

Fantastic. Best looking wheel finish I've seen on a C7.

Actually, the Forgeline "black chrome" is not chrome at all. It is highly polished forged aluminum treated with PVD. (Check out Forgeline's website.)

Chrome is also treated with PVD to produce black chrome.

The Forgeline product looks way better and much blacker than black chrome. A far superior product and in terms of durability as well.

Thanks, I would love to see pics of the regular chrome next to the black chrome. I have seen pics of both a few times now but a side by side comparison would be much better for me as my eyes just aren't what they used to be. If anyone has these photos available, thanks in advance. Paul ...

Thanks. I had an MSG C5 and loved it. SG was one of the colors I considered.

Yes, it looks different depending upon the lighting. It's been raining a lot here lately and was overcast the day I took those pics.

I haven't sold the chrome wheels yet. When I get a chance, I'll snap a photo of the wheels side by side and post it up.

They are PVD. Let us know what you need. We sell it ALL at best price. Give us a shot

Forgestar does not produce the PVD anymore

I can see the difference in the first photo (chrome wheels) compared with the rest (black chrome).....
