Look Who Stopped By My Garage and Bar Last Night
None other than Jordan Taylor, Driver of the Konica/Minolta #10 Corvette DP for Wayne Taylor Racing, and Co-Winner of the GTE Pro Class driving the #64 C7.R for Corvette Racing in the 2015 24 Hours of LeMans race!
What a great guy and class act. He was in town for a couple days testing at Road Atlanta. A neighbor across the street from me is good friends with the Taylor family and had him over for dinner after a long day at the track. (We only live about 5 miles from the track).
They knew that I am a huge IMSA fan and asked if I would like to meet him and let him see my car, garage and bar. Uh...Yeah!
He was kind enough to sign a few things for me, including my Photo Album of my car being built. We had some fun watching some highlights of his races that I had saved on my DVR, and just talking racing.
I shared some of my experiences as a newbie, learned at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Park and got a whole new feel for what these drivers experience in the driver's seat of one of the DP cars. He told me that they wear heart rate monitors which are tracked by the pit crew. The internal temps in those cars can reach 120 degrees and his heart rate can hit as high as 180! That, alone, can be very physically fatiguing.
Anyway, I was quite honored to have someone of his accomplishment and skill take the time to visit my home and talk racing. I can't wait for Petit LeMans to get here!

Great experience. Did you get a chance to ask him how the Euros treated him & the vette? Did he say anything about the ford GT?

I hope I'll get to spend some time with him again during the Petit LeMans in a few weeks, so I will try to get some input from him on the GT. I know he doesn't like the Ferrari. I sensed that he was just as frustrated by the BOP shenanigans at LeMans this year as most of us were.
