Default Fair price on a 2014 Z51?

Looking at a 2014 Z51 2LT, 3k miles, 7 speed with mrcs & npp exhaust. What's a fair price from a used car dealer?

I was considering one of those before I got my Z. I wouldn't pay more than $48k. 3LT's were advertised for that with @ 20k mi.

Thanks for the reply. Seems like the majority of dealers want low to mid 50s for a similarly equipped low mileage car. This particular one was asking 53.

With such low miles, worth 50K all day long! It's basically a 3 year old new car!

Not a big difference from a 2lt to a 3lt, but the 3K miles will yield a higher price tag.

2LT and 3LT seem to be bringing similar money. General rule of thumb when buying a new car is, you will loose less money buying a stripped down base model vs a fully loaded. Base 1LT 14's with low mileage are bringing high $40k's. If the first buyer was GMS they would have only lost sales tax in 3 years!

In our neck of the woods, 14 Z51 2LT and 3LT's, low mileage, range from $53K-$56k.

That's exactly what I bought in January of this year except mine is GM Certified extending the warranty one year. Paid $51,900 in January. Factor in that new Vettes are discounted more now than they were then and 8 months later we're reaching the end of the summer so 2014 Vettes have declined somewhat since then. I'd estimate you should pay around $50K.
A used car dealer doesn't have the equipment to completely check out a C7. All they did was detail it and shove it on the lot. They want to sell that Vette before fall arrives and the Corvette selling season comes to an end.

OP, print this post above, put it in your pocket and show it to the dealer if need be during the negotiations to get the price down to $50k.

Accompanied by asking them to tell you if they have any good reason why you should have to pay any more than this.

Well that settles that. I'll see what the dealer says. Thanks for the input guys!

Try to squeeze an extra few hundred out of them under $50k since the one you are looking at is a 2LT and not the 3LT Twilhelm purchased. Only difference is the type of leather seating. Twilhem's may not have had MSRC, but unless the dealer brings it up, don't go there. ..and don't print this part of the thread

I paid $53k in April for a 2014 Z51 3LT A6 with comp seats and 3750 miles. Thought that was a fair price back then.

I'm not so sure about used but I just purchased a new 2016 Z51 2lt for $57,100. I think the dealership has one more left. It seems the 2016s are now getting discounted very deep

^ the 2014 has a 5 yr/100k mi. powertrain warranty, vs a 5 yr/60K mi. powertrain warranty for the 2016.
why pay more & get less ? 3K mi's. is nothin' if the car otherwise checks out...

Totally agree, if I would have found a used one like that I would have been very interested. I guess the biggest thing that swayed me was lack of good used ones near me and the Transmission/creature comfort items. (Camera ect.) I was pretty happy since it was the first "brand new" one I've ever bought

I don't know if this will help but maybe.

We have a 2014 Z51 convertible with 38,000 miles on it. Lately we have been getting offers in the mail from dealers wanting to allow us $52K trade in on a new Corvette.

Those direct mail offers usually don't mean anything. It's just a way to get you in the door. I bet you they offer you $10k less when you walk in the door.

Yup and the discount on the new C7 will be 2% or something close to that

THIS^
You are always better off doing

A. A private sale
THEN
B. Getting the best price you can on your next car.

This doesn't change because it's a vette'

------------------------------------------------

Also the 5/100 is ONLY better if he is going to drive something like, 30k miles a year. He only has 2.5 years (or less) left on it! (the 2014s)

Your not getting less by buying a 2016 today with 5/60 than a 2014 IN 2016 with a 5/100. Your only getting "LESS" if there was an option to buy a 2016 with the 5/100

Your one step away from saying that a 2011s 5/50000000 is a better deal than the 2016s 5/60. It WAS a better deal, but hardly is anymore.

I just test drove a red z51 2 lt in South Dakota for under $50k. They also had a white z51 1lt for 46k both 14s but the first one was certified. I really want it, but I think I am going to pass.
