Infotainment cheapness.....what a joke.
I don't normally complain about my car, I love, for the money it can't be beat but c'mon Delphi, Bose, AC Delco, GM or whoever was the genius behind the Infotainment system.
First off, why in the world would you make the icons overlap so one of them is totally useless, I mean any programmer worth his salt would've seen this, laughed and then fixed it. You can't browse on screen, instead, you get voice commands:
Second, where did all my pre-sets on my USB go? I saved a new one yesterday, they were there this morning and now gone. Jesus guys, get your schit together and figure it out, it's the entertainment unit, not at all the most complicated part of the car:
First world problems yes, annoying, yes, end of the world no.

It's Panasonic or Bosch.
The infotainment system in the C7 is the same (back end wise) as CUE.
There are 4 components:
The screen (it has its own ECU)
The front control panel (the buttons, they have their own ECU)
The HMI module (this runs the interface for the screen)
The Radio module (this does all the backend stuff like radio tuning and interfacing with peripherals)
Cars with XM have an SDARS module as well.
Your complaints are with the HMI module, which in the C7 is made by Bosch. However I think the interface (so the code on the module) is written by Panasonic. Not that they design the HMI interface! That would be GM.
So you need to figure out who is at fault. Did GM design the HMI wrong?
Did Panasonic code it wrong?
Did Bosch hardware have an issue which caused the code to be processed incorrectly?
I'd put my money on GM designing the HMI wrong.

I don't have any issues with the infotainment system. In fact, it is as good or better than most even those on more expensive cars.
I also have ZERO issues or complaints with the interface.

Monk, try to remove a row or two of your presets. Do more side to side scrolling to see those presets.
Just a thought.

Thankfully Chevrolet in their infinite wisdom put a fantastic exhaust on these. They info-tain me enough. Carplay works when plugged in but annoying as it overrides Waze. All complicated now. So far, my Corvette has entertained me to a tee.

Complaining about the infotainment/audio system on whatever the subject vehicle is one of the top 10 topics on any car forum.
As for me, I think the the C7 premium Bose/GM infotainment system get's an A- compared to any of the other several dozen vehicles I've owned.

Honestly have no issues with mine. Don't run that many presets as Sirius and OTA radio is not my cup of tea (lucky to find 6 stations I actually care to listen to). Listen to my own music on thumb-drives.
That being said, as far as the screen goes, I find it bright clear and easy to read. The infotainment screen I have in my Mini Cooper is barely readable on a sunny day.
I will admit, the photos our your screen with the overlap looks extremely cluttered. Is there an option to have the presets slide along the bottom rather than stack?
Additionally I run my thumb-drives (random) where I get a variety of songs from different artists playing. If I want to listen to just one artist, I use voice.

The icon overlap has been a annoyance of mine also. No excuse for this.

They just need to put an ipad or android tablet back there instead. It's just total and complete crap.
Mine, for whatever reason, loads my texts in reverse order. And of course, I can't scroll down unless I'm parked. It's actually perfect for the never when I need to look at the first text message I ever got on my phone while driving in my car.

OP, what's on your screen in your first picture is intended only as temporary display. You make those disappear by swiping down with your finger at the top of the boxes. You can make them reappear by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.
You can also choose how many boxes are displayed in your screen settings menu.

ever think that could be something wrong with the unit ? instead of condemning the whole system ? maybe you have a bad one, wow, never thought that could happen, or you don t know how to operate it or set it up. mine works great, and i see that others are satisfied also.

the icons on mine never overlap, are you sure that you don't have a problem that needs to be looked at?
that being said, the system is very sluggish, that's more of a problem for me, as i've never had the overlapping icon issue.
