Upgrade to the grille....
I'll start by saying I love love love my car....but there are a few things I am changing and the grille is one of those. I decided to not do the upgrade myself as I was flat out chicken. There is a Chevy dealership around the corner and they happen to have special lifts and tools for Vette's (more so than other Chevy Dealers). Anyways, I ordered the grille thru The Monkey and had the dealer throw it on while I went home a took a nap. Grille cost was $205 (plus shipping) and install was $160. For me that was a no brainer. I love the new look....much more aggressive and as my dads says "it looks like a young mans car not an old farts cruiser." LOL...things my dad says. At any rate here a couple pics.
Love it !

Looks great! The Z06 grille definitely changes the look of the whole car.

It's cool, but next time try it yourself. Even if you got tons if money, $160 is $160, and it's kinda fun to work on cars. The C7 grill is actually pretty easy. Helped my dad do his and will prolly do mine soon.
My gf killed the timing chain in her (now previous) car, so I tore it up and made it work again. Did the work myself except the $550 head rebuild and gasket kit. Quite satisfying to see it live again, and I think I learned some stuff.

If your happy that is all that counts. I didn't do any of those so called mods, saved the money for the ultimate mod, replacing the car with another new one.

Thats the Z06 OEM grill. Im in the process of doing mine and as rewarding as it is i might have paid the $160 bucks. True it wasnt hard persay but i did go slow cause it was the first time doing it and those two dang clasp by the lights gave me hell to the end getting the bumper off. After that its cake till you have to screw back in all those screws lol

Upgrade?? It is puzzling why people think this is an upgrade.
It is different, but functionally may not be as good for street use since the larger openings also allow more debris to get to the radiator.
Chrome accent can actually add to the car like mine with painted wheels and not all blacked out.
I do think the Z06 splitter completes the look of the front end, even on the Stingray.
As mentioned in numerous notes, the two tabs next to the headlights are difficult to get release, and can even break, so the bumper does not lay down right.

The grille does snap into the front bumper. I can't remember if there are screws in it or not, but it's very secure. Watch the video a few times before you do it. I recommend a drill or an electric socket wrench to speed up the install. My brother and I changed mine out and we're idiots.

Looks fine, but the stock look with the chrome strip looks good to me.

Hmmm, if the camera-equipped version wasn't ~$400, I'd pay someone $200 to change mine. Until then, my faux carbon fiber decal is good enough.

Your dad is right. It takes it from Viagra popping cruiser to sports car.

The car looks great with the chrome strip grille, I just happen to like the z06 grille better. I love the new look though. I wish I had a little more confidence and I would have done it myself for the fun and experience. The GM part # is 22790956

What happens with the brake ducts in the new grill? Just go nowhere?
