Cold key fob will not work until it warms up
Just learned something new about the car...again. Background: I carry an insulated bag with a few snacks...I put one of those freezer cold packs in it. There is a pouch in which I put my keys/phone while I'm exercising. The fob, sitting against the cold pack, got extremely cold. When I walked out to the car, pressed the cold fob, nothing happened...no lights, no doors unlocking, etc. It took about 5 minutes for the fob to reach operating temperature....no problems at all, except standing around a locked Corvette trying to look natural....

Would the iphone Onstarr app have opened the door or you need to have an active OnStar membership for that?

My friend used to keep his Fob in his unheated garage near his car.
Winter time when it was cold enough the Fob never worked... at first.
Changed the battery and still had trouble at first when it was cold.
Finally kept it in the house and no further problem.
