Cruising RPM and MPG A8 vs M7
Curious what rpm everyone is turning at lets say 70mph and what your mpg is at that speed doing a long highway cruise.

2017 Grand Sport with "stage II aero"; automatic.
In 8th gear, RPMs are around 1600 at 70-75mph. Instant fuel economy displays 26-30mpg depending on elevation (I live in Florida).

2016 Z06 A8 (2.41 rear axle ratio)
8th gear @ 75 MPH is 1500 RPM
Averaged 26.2 cruising at 80-82 MPH on return trip from TN this summer which was the best highway average so far. That is with the transmission set to manual to keep from going into V4 mode. I was surprised at how well it does since I didn't buy it for fuel economy but it isn't far behind my 2014 ATS (3.6L RWD) on highway trips and about 3 MPG behind the ATS for overall MPG.
