Retractable side-view mirrors?

Retractable side-view mirrors?
Can anyone tell me if the side-view mirrors retract automatically like most cars. It sure would be nice if they did. In S. Florida most garages are built very narrow leaving no room for a 2016 ZO6 to enter without getting out and folding the mirrors in. I suspect they don't, even with all the new computer controls. If not they need to change this in future years.
Thanks,
Bob

I have a base model 2016 coupe and the mirrors do not retract automatically. I have manually pushed them in sometimes. You are correct, that would be nice.

None of the C7 line has auto-folding/retractable side mirrors.

Got them on my Silverado. Wouldn't be able to get into the garage otherwise. We'll get them on the vette the same year we get blind spot indicators.

Of course, other sports cars like Jaguar do have them, but the point has been "overlooked" by those who are against them. I would like them for personal reasons as I have a chronically sore neck and can't turn my head very easily to check. It hurts too badly. It's not as if the visibility on a C7 is very good. I have the feature on my CTS VSport and really like it a lot.

Auto retractable mirrors would be a nice feature, but one I can live without. No big deal to get out and manually fold them in.

I traded in my Cadillac CTX for the Corvette. It had more bells and whistles than I could count but I don't get anywhere near the head rush I get out of my Z06. I didn't buy the Vette for bells and whistles and I'm too busy enjoying the extreme power and exhilaration while driving it to miss them.

My boss made fun of me when he saw me folding my mirrors in. He was wondering why a car that costs that much didn't have power folding mirrors. I told him it was because it was to save weight. I personally would like to have them for the convenience as well as the blind spot monitoring. My mom's 2016 RX350 has all those bells and whistles and they're very helpful.

I didn't realize that motorized folding mirrors were so ubiquitous. My 2016 Ram 1500 has a button to fold in the mirrors, and I thought it was quite novel. I use them to park close to the wall on the passenger side in my garage to leave plenty of door space for both vehicles:

I would do the same in the Corvette, as it's passenger side faces the wall as well, but... The mirrors aren't much wider than the body, especially those with Z06 hips (soon!), so I'm ok with that.

I'd love blind spot warning and I wonder how much cost/weight this would add.

I installed electronic retractable mirrors on two other cars, one a Toyota and the other an Acura. For some stupid reason, both of those did not offer it in the US, but did in other countries. I was able to import the parts and managed to install them. Not cheap, nor easy but definitely worth it. I am going to guess that someone creative enough could retrofit a set from another application on the vette, but it won't be cheap or easy and would be hard to make it look right. And the purists will of course poo-poo it if they did.
For Blind Spot systems a quick google turned up quite a few aftermarket systems. Some seem real poor and false alert a lot according to the reviews. While not terribly expensive, they won't be easy to install. Typically the aftermarket ones are from China and are not as good as anything an OEM would use.
I see that Mobileye offers one and since they are an OEM supplier, they might be worth looking at.

I have three 8 fioot wide garage doors, which are the smallest they make as standard. When I got the C7 (which has the same width, mirror tip to mirror tip as the Z06 and GS) found I have 4 inch clearance to the wooden door frame. That is IF I could pull in straight, which is difficult with our required doors not visible ftom the road. Pulling in I have about 3 inches per side. Backing out the car is straight so less of an issue.
Have not had a problem in 3 years. However agree electric powered fold in would be nice.
