Good 2017 Grand Sport Deal?
Need some input. Was in getting my 2005 C6 serviced yesterday and while waiting starting looking at a 2017 C7 Grand Sport.
Watkins Glen Gray
2lt Package - $4,455.00
Z07 Ultimate Performance Package - $7,995.00
Grand Sport Chrome Wheels - 1,995.00
Carbon Fiber Package - $2,995.00
8-Speed Auto Shift - $1,725.00
Grand Sport Heritage Package - $795.00
Custom Red Caliper - $595.00
Battery Protection - $100.00
Destination Charge - $995.00
Sticker Price is 87,100.00
The will give me $21,000.00 for my 2005 C6 Z51 manual, w/1SB package/option. Super clean/great condition. 23,000 miles, clean title, Headers, Corsa Sport, Dyno Tune.
Bottom line out the door price (with tax/license/etc) would be 72,451.50
Is this a good price for this car?
They are eager to move this car as it would be the first one in our area on the streets.
Let me know what you think.

Sorry, but I don't think so.....
You can get 12% off an in stock car @ Kerbeck and I would think should be able to get about 10% off a special order, or close to it.
If MSRP is $87k less 10% = $78390 less $21k for your trade ( didn't even bother to look to see if that seems fair) = $57,390 plus tax..... 6.5% I believe for WA = $61,120 plus tags, etc, etc, etc.. seems a far way away from what they are offering you @ $72,451....
Am I mis understanding something ???

I think you can do better. I think invoice on that car would be about 83,000. Take off your trade and the net is $62,000. I don't know what your sales tax rate is, but it is sure less than 10%. Adding $6,200 brings the price up to $68,000. That's the price I would be willing to pay for the car, IF my guess on the invoice cost is correct.
Of course, price is only one thing to consider when buying a car. If you love it, get it. The money doesn't matter. If you love the dealer and they have treated you right in the past, you can feel good about paying a little more than invoice.
But, if this is not the color and equipment you want, check a forum dealer for a special order car. That might work better for you. But of course, you would have to wait a bit to get it. Getting the car now before the bad weather hits might push you over the top and make you want to get this car NOW!
It is all up to you.

I agree that you could do better. I didn't buy from Kerbeck, but I checked into it. Being in California makes buying out of state a pain, but Amoni at Kerbeck was more than willing to go the extra mile to make the purchase as pain free as possible. So definitely check them out.
If you don't mind selling your Vette yourself, I think you should be able to get more than their trade-in offer. (that's with the caveat that I don't know your local used Vette market at all, so I could be wrong about that.) Although, the numbers do seem to be a bit cooked to give you a better trade-in value that you might otherwise expect. At least around here in Northern California, that would be a phenomenal amount for a trade-in.

The best way to ask for opinions like this is to let us know purchase price without tax and license and with any dealer fees. We have no idea how much your sales tax is and any online price comparisons will be without tax. In response to your question, I got $26K trade-in value just over two years ago on this car:
- 2005 coupe
- Machine Silver / black
- Z51
- 1SB
- Navigation
- 6-speed manual
- Polished aluminum wheels

Sounds like nonsense to me. No way they're giving you that much for your trade. Playing the "we'll give you XXXXX for your car just pay more for ours".

Sounds like you got a good deal on your 05. How did you go about getting the GM Employee price?

There are so many options on this car that once paid the money is gone forever. If you want to keep the car for years then it doesn't matter, trading in three years, the depreciation/cost of options will kill you. Example order would be either a coupe or convertible Stingray or Grand Sport, 1,2 or 3 LT interior, Auto or Manual transmission, Navigation/PDR. When trade time there is a return on the investment. With due diligence average depreciation over a three year period will be in the $5,000/$6,000 range.

The cost of all options puts you in Z06 territory. If it were me, I would order a 2LTZ Z06 with no other options from forum dealer and sell the C6 privately.
The deal as it stand it terrible-you can do much better.

Terrible deal.

Getting a Corvette at invoice is very possible. I did it, using one of the Forum dealerships. What your car is worth is the unknown. In my state, I was able to take the trade-in price off the tax burden. The dealer I used let me run the paperwork through him. So I got the price of selling privately ($4K more than the wholesale price) AND the tax advantage of trading the car into the dealer.
You just have to do your research.

Many good post on pricing. My question to you is why do you need a Z07 package, do you track the car?, if not the package contains tires that will last around 5K miles also CC brakes are a bundle to replace. Overall if not tracking (Road course) the car that is almost a $8K waist.

Excellent comment on the ZO7 option. There has been a lot discussed in that regard in that 4 tires and ceramic brake job with rotors is over $10,000 dollars. Very expensive option to maintain if not seriously tracking it.
