A little Valet parking humor :)
I went to the local hospital (our family doc has an office there) the other day and took the Z06 because it was such a nice day. I decided to park in the furthest possible place in the parking lot and took up two spaces.
When I headed back to the car after about 30 minutes I was surprised to see someone had parked right next to me. I got a little closer and was thinking there pretty close too. Then I saw another car really close on the other side.
I was upset at first but didn't see any damage to my car. I snapped a few pics then noticed a valet walking back from another car. I asked him what the deal was and he said something about needing those spots. I went back in to talk to the valet manager. He was cool and handled it nicely. Even followed up with me later that day.
I can see the humor in it now, even though I was a little po'ed at first. Maybe I should have just parked in back and taken only one spot.
Anyone ever have this happen to them?

Yeah, its a dick move taking up two spaces. You're just inviting trouble.

I never take up two parking spaces. As discussed on this forum many times you are only asking for trouble when you do.

I used to, but don't anymore.
It doesn't really matter how far away you park, taking up two spots (or otherwise parking like you think you are better than the unwashed masses) is just asking for it.
This is what happened to Mr.owc6 when he essentially just did a sloppy parking job.

You or anyone else who does this no matter how far out in the parking lot is just asking for trouble. Just pick the same area with curb on one side and hug it as many have suggested.
The only thing that could have been worse is if you parked across two spots up close in a parking lot. You certainly don't want to be that guy.

No, because I only take one spot. Generally at the back of the back 40, in a corner, so only one side is subject to *********.

I'll add one more to the "that's a ******** move" vote on parking like an idiot. Makes the rest of us look like idiots. Obviously, you were in the valet lot and not the lot reserved for self-entitled ******.

No matter how far away you park, NEVER take more than one space.

If you can figure out where the employees park you can park with them and it is less likely the car you park next to will move before you get back.

Amazing how people have relative perspective how valuable their car is and, thus, how much more entitled it is to parking privileges. Saw this at Target the other day - a base model Corolla.

This really was in the back forty. Nobody was hoofin' it this far. Even the valets had a golf cart bringing em back.
It never even occurred to me this was a dick move. Not like I was parking in the front taking two spots.
