Stereo question
I bought a 17 grand sport and have a cheap MP3 that works on my boat stereo but not will not work in the car. It will not read the device the in the car. Can someone tell me what seems to work best whether I need to get an Ipod or something else over an MP3 player? And if there is anything different I need to do to recognize the device? I've plugged it into the the port in the console but cannot get it to work.
Thank you in advance for any feedback.

On Friday I spoke with the folks at SanDisk and asked when they were going to release a 256gb version of that device; the current maximum capacity is 128gb. I was told they are on there way and should hit the retailers within the next month.
Since the 128gb version sells for about $48 on Amazon, I expect (hope???) the 256gb should sell for about $100.

Let's actually answer his question.
Yes, your car will only control an Apple device when connected to any of the USB outlets in the car. ((There are 3, 1 behind the screen, and 2 in the console) Be it a iPhone, or iPod. Any other MP3 playing device will look like a brick, and be just as useful. (Note device doesn't not mean an Android phone) 2016's and later have both Apple car play, and Android Auto built in...
Your best bet is to actually copy the music files to a USB thumb drive.

If your MP3 device has an earphone jack, attach a stereo cable between the MP3 player and the Aux audio input under the center console armrest. You will have to control the music from the MP3.

Yes... I have over 9000 songs in my library, most likely I am not even close to listening to them all.
It's a USB memory stick. When installed, say in a PC, the piece inside the PC is larger than the that exposed. It's almost invisible.

Auto to my phone, from the play store. would anyone like to trade music? I can mail an 8gig loaded thumb drive --8 has all my music. this would be a good way to get new music.
