My 2014 Stingray Z51 vs Ferrari and Lamborghini
Took my Stingray Z51 3Lt Brownstone interior corvette to one of the Cars and Coffee Events what happened next was a surprise to even me.
First of all I parked it in the middle of a Ferrari 458 Italia and an Aventador . The Ferrari guys of course started looking at me like I had parked the car in the wrong section. I parked it here of course on purpose to do my own comparison .
To my amazement I had almost as many photos taken of my car by onlookers as the Exotics,
The stingray holds its own pretty well as you can see.
and to top it off the Ferrari guy came over to look at my Vette and was asking me about the Interior color ect, and stated that my interior was just as nice as his if not nicer.
I let him sit in the car which has competition seats and he was immediately even more amazed.
To make things even more interesting, a roughly 10 yrs old kid came over with his dad to look at the cars and flew straight to the Stingray
To the surprise of all of us he went on and on about my car
" Dad do you know what kind of car this is ? its the stingray and I'm gonna have one when I get big "
He went on for quite awhile until his father who seemed embarrassed dragged him away.
Being a former Ferrari and Lamborghini owner in the past I have to say I was as shocked as the Exotic guys.
But that kid brought it into perspective. Its not how much you pay for something or even the fact the exotics beside me are faster. its about how passionate you are for something.
In his eyes it was his future dream car and the thing that will probably motivate him to excel. A lot of us were this kid once.

Nothing is equal to Ferrari. It's the traits that cannot be measured that make Ferrari the gold standard in sports cars. With that being said, I am super impressed with how close GM has come to making Corvette a true peer to the Ferrari. Looks, performance, looks... I'm waiting for my GS to get shipped to me and the anticipation is near what I expect I would feel if it was a Ferrari on its way.
Because I understand the status and price of the cars you parked with I understand why some might see your car as being out of place. But purely on what is observable, your car is at the very least, if not more, on the same level as the exotics. Just ask the kid.

I have always loved the 458 and the Lambo has that certain look that turns heads, they Both have that exhaust that is amazing and sounds good to all...With that being said, the Corvette Z06 is a beast of a car that I feel is a better all around super car. The sound of the American muscle car produces speaks to the hearts of true car enthusiasts. The handling, the comfort and the options that come on the Vette meet the standards of people across the board. thank you for sharing the pics and yes the Vette fits right in and looks great.

when at these shows you always kind of dream about owning one of these type vehicles, and for most common folks the corvette is really the most realistic option presented.
I know when i was younger i use to love going to the local events and there was always an amazing mix of cars, but the porsche and corvettes always attracted me to look longer because i knew if i really wanted to sacrifice and make some changes i could own one and it wouldnt kill me financially

Melting Slicks
Out of all the C7's, the Stingray with it's crisp lines and cleanliness (in terms of having no spats, giant aero bits) looks the most fitting between those cars. There's no doubt that GM hit a home run with the Design of the car.

In my opinion the C7 looks nice in that group of cars.

I'm a total Corvette fan and love the C7 exotic looks. But a 458 Ferrari and Lambo just spins my head around, what a work of ART. On the performance side I'll take the ZO6 for HP/TQ and value!!

Great story-I had a similar situation here in Kansas City. We used to have what was called "Fast Fridays", which was put on by a local shop. It was the premier car show in town. I would part in FRONT of the Ferraris, on purpose. I had more people wanting to take pictures of my car (and standing next to my car) than the Ferraris did!

As I have stated in other post GM hit a home run with the C7, and experiences like yours proves it.

Every year the Ferrari Club of Naples sponsors a great car show in the middle of February called "Cars on Fifth" in Naples. Our Corvettes of Naples Club is invited as well as other local car clubs. We usually have 50 plus cars and last year this show had over 50,000 people attend. As an owner of a base 2014 Stingray you would be amazed at the interest that even my humble car gets and that even from "Exotic" owners. There's every kind of car in this show that you can imagine as well as Street Rods, Classics and Muscle cars. Most of these people whether they have a Ferrari, Audi, Lambo, McClaren, Mercedes, Masserati, BMW, Jaguars, Porsche, etc ,etc are car people and just like cars, period. Remember, SW Florida in February is beautiful.

I remember my dad's 928 when I was a kid, white with a black interior...
Those memories sometimes have a significant influence not on just cars, but appreciation for many things, hopefully setting goals to acquire them someday.
I was driving just yesterday through a parking lot with my GS and this kid kept pointing to my car, big grin on his face, which put a grin on mine.

Couldn't agree more , and I have a feeling it will get even better.

Thanks Flex182, very cool story. Even if I could afford an (exotic car) I'm not sure I could drive it hard? I acknowledge that's a personal problem, but it's also moot. Digging my C7 every time I drive it.
