there is nothing wrong with trying trying new tires, however i would probably sway to the continental DW before Toyo.
I have outfitted two vehicles with the DWS06 and have had great results from them.

I went with T1rs on my Z06.
They are really quiet, handle very well in wet and dry, but also spin very easy vs the SC2s.

very happy with all my Toyo purchases.....if they came in the sizes I needed I would have them on my C6Z and my SC 99...

Melting Slicks
I am looking on tire rack and see that they have many tires for the Z51 C7, but I thought I have read that there are not many tires that fit? I guess Im wondering if the tires on tire rack will indeed fit the Z51 when they show them as the same sizes?

Quiet. Nice ride. But not much grip. And the SRT is ALL WHEEL DRIVE.
I won't buy these again. Maybe Hankooks next round. The OEM Pirellis were noisy and wore out fast.
....sorry for the SRT tangent.
Stick with PSS or DWS.

I'm got R888R tires on my rears recently but they didn't work well with the stock MPSS ZP. So I purchased Toyo Sports for the front 285/30R19. I don't know what I lost by not choosing T1 Sports, but i don't think it matters for the street.

Winter/as tires I prefer Conti dsw06’s more than mich as3+, it just a personal choice as I only run them in winter and have both. I run firehawk indy500’s in summer and have been really happy with them at 640whp. No track time with the indy’s But they hook up and have been much more streetable than the OEM tires, great in rain , no chatter and seem to not slip under full throttle any worse than OEM....oh and they are cheap and wear so much better...my 2cents.

My Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric tires were decent, not great, when new. Now, six years later they look fine, and felt OK on the highway, so here I am—the first car out onto the track for the morning’s run group. Ambient temperatures are in the 40s. I wouldn’t have been the least bit surprised to see track temperatures lower than that.
I make it three corners. At less than 45 mph, all the controls in the Corvette go light, and I find myself doing a four-wheeled slide off the track into the gravel. After punching myself in the face a few times, I creep back onto the track and black flag myself for being a moron, but don’t even get that far. Four corners later, it happens again, on the slowest corner of the entire track. Off into the gravel I go.

i jumped from C7 Z51 MPSS ZP stock tires with only 2000 miles on them to Michelin A/S 3+ runflats because the sitckyness of the original Z51 tires just kept sending a fusilade of stones up on the bodywork. The Michelin A/S 3+ do NOT throw stones. again a convertible, so track performance of the tires is moot.
But then again, Corvette and Michelin engineers worked closely together to develop the Pilot Super Sport ZPs uniquely for the c7 Z51 Corvette in 2014. Might be hard to find a better performing tire for your Z51. Certainly there are no other tires tuned specifically for your vette.
Weather mode handles a multitude of slippery sins on the C7:
Weather Mode
In inclement weather, the vehicle senses and adapts to road conditions, distributing appropriate power to the rear wheels. With tailored Traction Control and throttle progression, Corvette promotes more confident driving in rain or snow.
and all vettes must meet water standards:
MacDonald notes that they had to “certify” the car (ZR1 test) to the same standards as a base, non-Z51 Stingray, including a test in which the 755-hp, big-wing track monster had to ford 12 inches of water at about 5 mph.

2FAST4U, am considering replacing the Michelins on my 2016 Z06 with Toyo rubber. Specifically 285/30/19 Proxes Sport on front and Proxes R888R 345/30/19 on back. Seems you have a similar setup. Can you give me your thoughts on how this combo performs together? Performance, traction, wet handling, etc.? Thanks in advance.

I asked the same thing. Others have said that putting the R888Rs on the front will be very noisy and would compromise wet traction. However, reviewers of the R888Rs on the Toyo web site have said that they actually deliver reasonable wet road traction. Also, the tire does not come in a 285/30/19 configuration. It comes in a 295/30/19. My wheel guy suggests a 10.5 inch rim for that tire, not a 10 inch. He was not positive of good fitment up front with a 10.5 inch rim.
