It is on my short list for the next Z06 when I replace the Stingray for either a late build '17 or, an '18 depending on what new colors are introduced at the bash in April of '17.

Here is a story for you, just something to consider. I had to give up a 2016 Z06 and bought the 2017 Grand Sport out of necessity. I love corvettes, but the 2016 Z06 was a bad product which was compounded by the attitude of the dealership {Stingray Chevrolet} service department. The 2016 Z06 had supercharger problems, bad enough that my wife wouldn't ride in the vehicle. The first service visit for this problem was at 20,239 miles. Service department couldn't recreate the problem. This was no big surprise as this is the standard answer. Second service visit was 22,000+ miles. We found that when the 2016 Z06 would go into 4 cylinder operation the supercharger would “growl,” for lack of a better word. The supercharger would engage for no reason and the engine would buck and ping. The “growl” sound would drown out the stereo system. On the second service visit for this problem I had documented the problem through the PDR. A mechanic said it was normal! This after riding in the vehicle and experiencing the “growl.” Said that GM would not allow the automatic operation to be disconnected. I have friends that have the Z06 and no one has had the problem. I noticed that problems are always tagged as normal operation when it can't be figured out and/or fixed. To avoid the hassle of the Florida Lemon Law, no faith in the supercharger, I had to pay thousands of dollars and go to the Grand Sport to stay in a Corvette. I sent GM a message via email which was never answered. I'm really disgusted with GM. However, the Grand Sport is one heck of a car so far. Be really careful because the supercharger problem my come around at high miles.

The car in these pictures does not have Stage 2 Aero, which is what all of the magazines are testing. A GS owner looking for max downforce and the best handling potential at speed should be running those pieces.

Stingray Z51 M7 is a solid choice. With all the performance of the GS and nearly identical track handling (put cup tires on the Stingray), you can save some cash and have a gorgeous superb road car.
If you need 650 hp, then get Z06

Let me make this real simple for you. If money is an issue buy the GS. If money is not an issue buy the Z06 loaded. I know the refrain of "what am I going to do with all that horsepower?". But what are you going to do with all that 460 HP? It is a question of not what you need, but what you want. And if money is no object. Buy the Z06.

My feeling- if it looks like a Z06 sounds, sounds like a Z06, handles like a Z06, it must be a Z06 right?-wrong, it must accelerate like a Z06 which the GS does not. Get the Z06!

Another thing to consider is depreciation.
Because the Z06 (currently) is the top of the Corvette line, it should hold its value better than the GS (IMO, of course).
