Landwick,
I did some research. This is just a guess, but I'm guessing that's a 3LT, Z51, M7 with around 15K on the clock. If I'm right, it's also had 3 owners, none of which kept it more than 10 months. That is an alarm by itself. The last Chevy dealer that took it in on trade, wholesaled it out. Combine all that with the fit issues you listed along with an asking of almost $50K, no way you want to mess with this.
BTW, I'd run CarFax AND Autocheck on any used vehicle you purchase. My daughter-in-law and I just shopped for a used car for her. We saw a Toyota that had a clean Autocheck, but a Carfax that clearly spelled out "accident", not minor. Sure enough, inspection revealed a rear end hit. As was said before, these providers are a tool, but not always accurate.

I agree with the comments right now there are really good deals on new 2016's with full warrantees unless its a CPO car at a great deal I'd keep looking ...I've been down this road a few times if its a screaming deal theres usually a reason why you just haven't found the smoking gun yet

In the above pictures I have found that road dirt and sand can work its way in that location. I removed the screws on mine and used a garden hose with a sprayer and was able to wash it all out. Then the panel fit perfectly. Not saying that is what happened to that one but it is a possibility.

That does not look normal to me. I've seen a lot of C7s and have not seen one with the panels that far off. I'd be very suspicious about it.

Get the VIN # and take to a chevy dealer and have them run the history on the car. I bet that rear end panel has been off for some reason. Dealer had to remove mine for exhaust work and it looked something like this and I wouldn't take the car until they realigned the panel. Stayed in their body shop 3 days getting it correct.

Hello,
Hopeful C7 owner here. I'm looking at a used 2014 Stingray and have some concerns with the panel misalignments- the seller (used car dealer) is telling me that this is very normal and an easy fix. Any advice on the cause of this / should this be a deal killer?
Thanks All!!

The door frame is sort of U shaped and wraps around the door and includes the rocker panel. It is glued to the frame and can be a PIA to replace. If it was damaged to the point it had to be replaced I could see an inexperienced person screwing up the alignment of that panel.
I don't know if the car was in an accident and poorly repaired or whether a knucklehead tried to make modifications but you don't want anything to do with the car. In fact based on what the dealer told you I would not purchase anything on that dealer's lot. They are untrustworthy.

As I recall reading somewhere that rear panel joint at the bottom is glued with double faced tape It appears the fender was off for some reason and not re attached properly or the tape just unbonded. I do know for a fact early build 2014s did have panel fit issues and most of the body panels had to be re worked by GM to fix poor fit and rubbing issues between panels.

Thanks to all for the responses!!
I've taken the overwhelming consensus from the group and decided to pass on this one.
I was able to confirm with a friend at GM that this is one of the first 1000 Stingrays produced, likely a factor in this issue.

Nobody would have accepted that car on delivery, they would have gotten it fixed under warranty so this must have been done afterwards for whatever reason. If they won't pull the panels so you can see under them, then i wouldn't touch this car.
On another note i have a minor misalignment on my rear bumper facia on one side but i'm not touching it or having the dealer touch it... would probably cause more grief than it resolves... but as i said, a very minor misalignement.

There is NO way I would touch this car! As others have pointed out, too possibilities of previous damage. Also, lots of great cars to be had for the right price. Don't buy someone else problems.

I would stay clear too. Doesn't look normal.

Nope, not normal.
Did you compare the fit on the other side?
It should definitely be better than this.
This photo was not taken to show the fit, but you can see the fit on the front bumper and rear panel of mine..

Pasadena, too suspicious for me to be comfortable with. There are so many nice cars out there, just take your time. Good luck.
