2015 Z06 chrome wheels blistering/flaking
My '15 Z06 wheels are starting to blister and flake. Anyone else seen and or heard of this issue?
Stopped by the dealer and they stated they never heard of this and that I would have to talk to the regional Chevy manager????

You have a GM defective wheel. This is neither really rare, nor unheard of.
Whether your dealer has ever heard of this is irrelevant. And instead of putting its resolution onto you, that you have to deal with the GM Regional Warranty approval person, your dealer needs to step up and file a request with the RW agent to get you a replacement GM wheel.

Wow!!
WOW, I AM SPEECHLESS!
So I stopped by the dealer today (a week later) and was told by the service manager that he contacted the DMA - District Manager Aftersales out of EL Paso - to which the DMA stated that he would only send the wheels out to be replated. What - so now my $100K car will have wheels plated by a aftermarket company, which would take at least 3-4 weeks (meanwhile paying payments & ins without a corvette). NO sir. So I called Chevy customer service to state I was not satisfied with the purposed resolution and the cust rep told me point blank it was out of their hands and ultimately up to the DMA and all they could do is forward this case to the DMA.
In addition - I had a slow air leak in rear driver side tire, so I stopped by Dis***** tire where the manger informed me that not only were the rear wheels flaking (even under the bead) but the front wheels showed signs of blistering starting to appear! ( I have resort to a tire store b/c dealer cannot remove this large of tire). ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!
I have defective GM wheels and should be replaced by factory GM wheels....

I could see this possibly happening near the ocean but NOT where you are - have them escalate it to the next level, or call your local news station that has a consumer action department.

Tell the DMA fine, but provide you with a loaner set of wheels/tires while yours is being fixed. What a bunch of from them on this.

Can you go to a different dealer?

I think if you push politely you will end up with new wheels. I had a couple replaced on my C6 due to poor chrome coverage near the hub area. Now that being said, aftermarket chrome would likely be better quality if done by a good source. I've had this done on motorcycle wheels and they held up great for a long time. Good luck with your dilemma.

GM just replaced my Z51 chrome wheels (front only) on my 2014 Vert. Chrome looked like slight pitting but maybe just road debris damage. Anyway dealer sent pictures and GM sent two new wheels and Z51 chrome wheels are $908 each now from parts dept. Do a Google search and you will find GM replaced a lot of chrome wheels, especially on trucks. You need to fight this.
