In my C5 it also has a bad cup holder I bought these a bout 6 years ago and they work great for bottles ,cans, coffee or soda cups. They just slide up under console and rug. They also fold up when not using. I'm planning on using them when I got my C7. Goggle Clear Option Cup Holder and they will come up.

I did the same thing but bought them on eBay for $20 for two, but you can get them for $9.19 ea. here:

There are 2 groups of Corvette owners.

1) People who use the cup holders and know they suck

2) People who don't use them and think they're fine

Seriously though, with a drink of any height/weight it's going to tip over and usually while the center piece is dislodging itself. Poor design plain and simple. Thanks to those that posted options.

My better half asked me what the hell was up with the cupholders - they don't hold anything and are too shallow. Her exact comment was, "How can a company sell a 70k car and get cupholders wrong?" You really are a minority on this one!

This cup fits perfectly in the cup holder.
It's a Tervis, I actually bought this one
at the NCM.

How big of cups are you guys using!! I have never had an issue and I have 12-20 oz coffee/drink with me almost every time I drive. Is the issue for most that it isn't deep enough?

My favorite cup holder is Mr.owc6.

If I'm sitting at a light and I expect a sudden acceleration, I tell him to hold the cup.

It's not just that it is not deep enough, the insert is not held securely to the base. It tilts in a sudden stop allowing even a tightly fitting water bottle to tip forward and spill its contents. Since the C7 cup holder is slightly deeper than in my C6, thought it might be better. Both have the problem of the torque tube being right below the bottom of the holder and can not be made deeper without raising the console.

Having the water spill occur soon after I got by September 2013 built C7 I glued the center divider to the base. My latest method of using UV activated plastic adhesive to secure the insert also removes the ~3/32 rubber mat under the divider, making the cup holder that much deeper.

The insulated C7 Logo Cup I use now holds a full bottle of water in 1+ "g" stops and turns without tilting or spilling its contents! (See pic, my post #18.)
