Default Cheap easy cup holder fix that works!

So as like everyone else I HATE the C7 cup holders and made it my mission to find a fix for them that could be easily removed / undone.

The cup holders are 3" so after some searching this is what I found. The cup holders from a Trailblazer are the same size.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They need a slight cut as you can see in the photo. They fit perfect but when you close the lid and open it back up it squishes it a little. I'll trim it to fit...

HTH.

I don't understand the problem with the cup holders. They work fine for me.

$22.00 a piece? That's pretty pricey!

It's $9.93 each = 19.86 for both.

What I don’t like about the C7 cup holders is the middle piece (divider) is too easy to move. I wish the divider would stay (locked) in place to make one end bigger than the other end. Otherwise the C7 is perfect with the addition of a Proclip cell phone holder and the rear cargo / 3 mesh cargo netting.

The rubber inserts firm up the middle piece also. Stops the cup from dancing and wanting to flip due to the middle piece moving.

Even cheaper and equally effective are black felt, stick-on, furniture foot pads available at any Target, Lowes, or Home Depot. They're also a little less visible.

Thought about that but two problems I see with that, 1) stick-on = no no for me. 2) more important those felts don't adjust to the size of the cup. So i.e. skinny coffee mug they don't work.

It's an option for sure tho

This one fits a bit better, but is more expensive:

They pull on and off with no residue, it's about the same type of adhesive as "scotch tape." They also compress to adjust to any container I've ever put in them.

Nice find - cheap way to make the cupholders more user friendly.

great but it doesn't stop the drinks from spilling, that's why I just throw a terry cloth towel in the holder, it holds the drink and covers the console if the drink does spill a little.

My solution has worked for ~3 years to allow a C7 Logo Bottle to not tilt and spill in a 1+ 'g' turn or stop. After making the bottle fit snug with soft side of Vecro strips, thought I had a solution when I got my September 2013 built C7. A few weeks later had to make a sudden stop with a full bottle of water. The center divider tilted allowing the bottle to spill water all over. Glued the divider to the base!

Recently have found and easy way to do that AND increase the depth ~3/32 inches! Removed the rubber mat under the divider. It just pulls up. Then used UV activated plastic adhesive to make a fillet from the divider to the bottom. Have all the time needed to make it neat, then turn on the UV light. Works for me.

Cover can still be closed if desired but in my case a bottle of water is always in the car when I'm driving.

Nothing will stop it, but it does secure it enough not to "dance" while the car is in motion. If your way works its definitely cheaper.
