Black Chrome

Black Chrome
On my wife's Fiat Abarth, I took the wheels off and sent them out to be powder coated black chrome. I think they look great! Straight on they look like they are a high gloss black, but at an angle, they almost look chrome. They really stand out.
Now I know this isn't powder coating, but I was thinking of using this product on my exhaust tips, since I am trying to delete all of the chrome on the outside of the car. Anyone here use this product?

It's a Corvette, not a Dodge Neon. I wouldn't do it. If you want a black exhaust, opt for the Corsa Xtreme with the black chrome tips. It will look better and more importantly, sound and perform better.

Anything exhaust related I have had no luck keeping it looking new. I suggest taking the mufflers off and getting them powder coated and just do it right the first time. Great idea but don't see it lasting no mater how much prep is involved.

Seen that coming! I've seen lots of "cheap mods" come out great and not look terrible and some do last. If need be, I will throw money at it as it seems to be the common theme, but I like trying alternatives to get the end results I'm looking for first. Believe me, I'm the last person wanting my car looking like a "ricer"!

Not "ricer" IMO. If it looks good than why not?

Pay no attention to the naysayer and keep us posted...I want Black tips as well and DO NOT Corsas or anything else. I think posts like that are just meant to get reactions or increase his # of posts so others think he knows more than others.

I don't mind constructive criticism, constructive being the key word!

Melting Slicks
If you do it post some results. My tips are the only chrome on the car. I would think the heat might be an issue for longevity though.

Worth a shot on the exhaust tips. Give it a try and see how it turns out, then post up the results.

I don't see anything wrong at all with trying it to see what it looks like. My worry with that product would just be longevity and it looking like *** in a short amount of time. If it does look good though, then you just spring for something lasting if this stuff doesn't.
