Corvette storage
I've read that when you store your C7 only leave a little fuel in it and I have read full it up before storage. With all my other vettes I have filled the tank before storing. What is everyone's opinion.
Thanks,
Steve

The latest info from the GM engineers is to store your modern day Vette with fuel tanks at 1/4 full.

I store mine with a full tank and I am aware of the latest recommendation storing it with a 1/4 of a tank. Just not jumping on that, I will stick with the full tank as I have always done.

As I recall, the idea of storing with full tanks is to avoid getting fresh air into the tank which causes rust. Perhaps the new style of gas cap prevents fresg air from going into the tank.
No worries for me yet. I don't store my car except for overnight in the driveway. My car is a daily driver.

My 1st winter with the vette, but my others cars always have a full tank of premium, a battery tender and a cover. Then we wait for April. No stabil ever and have never had an issue.

I filled my tank up with Non Ethanol Premium. I always filled my tank up when storing my Corvettes. This 1/4 of a tank thing is new to me. I also add about 7 psi of air in the tires, install a battery tender and a cover the car up. It will sit like that till April or May without ever starting it.

I agree, I drove my C5 through 7 Toronto winters and the front end looked terrible by the end of it. Road salt and sand spray just kills nice cars up here, especially on the front end. (not to mention how terrible the undercarriage looked, and the salt even trashed an ECM too, corroded the wiring harness and connector real bad)

I've researched this on the internet, talked with Corvette service specialists, and reviewed the C7 owner's and service manuals. I can find nothing factual anywhere that supports the need to fill the fuel tank only 1/4 when storing the vehicle. Several poster's have commented about this being the GM recommendation but no one has been able to provide anything in writing to support that recommendation. I don't know if this is urban myth or what?
While it's true that C6 and C5 Corvettes have had problems with their fuel level sensors, and getting the problem fixed is a real bitch, I haven't been able to find anything that indicates the problem is eliminated/mitigated by only filling the tank 1/4 when storing the vehicle.
GM does recommend using only top tier fuel and using Chevron Techron to help minimize valve stem coking and other problems associated with the Direct Injection system and high-pressure fuel pumps on LT1 and LT4 engines. So it only stands to reason that this would be good advice when storing the vehicle.
In addition it appears that using Stabil in the fuel when storing the vehicle for any extended period makes sense.
So for me, I do all of the foregoing and FILL the tank when storing just like I always have for years with no problems whatsoever.
