GM changed the recommended pressure on the base Stingray, without Z51, to 35F/35R effective with the 2016 models. And yes it is on the door sticker. I do not know if it stayed the same for 2017. Rumor has it that it was to try and squeeze out a little more mileage. I have found the 35 psi is a bit too high for my tastes.

Before about 2000 car-makers gave advice for GAWR's with no reserve, asuming that if you go over that, you are responcible because against the law.
But after 2000 the car maker can be hold responcible even if you do things out of the law, so overloading.
But also inacuracy of pressure-device and unequall loading R/L can make one tire on the axle to deflect to much so the structure of rubber is damaged .
Also the Ford/Firestone Affaire had a big impact on pressure-advice.
But this means that if you are able to detemine the data needed for pressure-calculation 99% acurate, you can mostly use a lower pressure then the car-maker advices.
Before 2000 in Europe , normal use advice was for axleloads determined by car-maker , for 3 persons and a little load in car, and gave mosty front higher advice then back.
Nowadays , again for reasons I gave, in Europe normal advice is for GAWR ( EUR MTA) and sayd for 4 persons and load, and sometimes higher up to reference-pressure of OEM-tire or even for when towing maximum allowed cold pressure.
But this means that you dont have to go yudging the loads on tires, and you always have to take a reserve for , pressure loss in time, incidental extra load.
Even including all this the pressure advice can come lower then given by car-maker , if only driver and a little load in car.

31 is fine for me, I agree that 35 is a bit too high. Of course, every month I get a notice from On-Star that my tire pressure is too low.
