That's been a Corvette owner issue for many years. We have long hoods so the best advise is to simply park as far back from the curb that you would think necessary. Our cars aren't that long so even if you park far away from the curb, you should still have plenty of room without your car *** sticking out of the parking slot. Back in if possible. It's always the best choice.

One of the first things I did was look at the pricing of those front splitters. OEM is over $2 but you can get them about $2,000. Aftermarket are more like $1200-1500. I have thought about buying one to have as a replacement. They occasionally are available on C7PFS. In fact I think the side skirts and OEM Stage 2 splitter in OEM are available right now.
But that will be easy to sand, fill and paint.

A lot of folks seem to feel they need to be snugged up against a curb. Even if you stop 2 feet away from the curb-stop, you're at least 6 ft. shorter than pick-up trucks, which out-number you at least 100-1.

I own a 2017 GS with full carbon fiber CFV skirts and chin spoiler and I still think the car is a 4X4 and need to be lowered 3/4 of an inch !! my 2011 Gs had full Zr1 carbon fiber skirts and was way lower and I never hit it once !! If you seen the underground I would pull out of each day you would say how does he do it !! the new C7 is by far the highest corvette I have seen in last 20 years !! and they come with curb camera !!

This! I had my C5Z for 12.5 years and never hit a curb. Love the cameras in my 2LZ, never ever park it without activating them. Slide the camera icon to your home page and its a no brainer.

I'm sure the front camera is a nice extra, and they weren't available on '14s, but I've always learned where the front of my sports cars are and haven't hit one either.

OK guys, bravo, you guys never do it, good job : )
Just use it for a while until you really get used to it, so the replacement doesn't quickly share the same fate. As suggested, backing up (using rear camera) works much safer, and always get into any curb with an angle.

LOL . . . not claiming any special skills, except that I've figured out it's OK to stop 3 feet short of any curb stop in a sports car considering that there are monster trucks parked all around.

I found the part on ebay for about $125 not the end of the world. I have front cameras and I would have used them if I wasn't parking next to a Stingray I was barely up to has fender when I hit I had no reason to think I was anywhere near the curb It seemed like I was maybe half way into the spot. I will be much more careful in the future! There has been a lot of things I didn't expect about this car. It is tight fitting into my garage which has always been tight even with my C6 but now I can barely get out of the car even with the window down. The extra width of the body flaring makes it hard to step out being I can hardly open the door. This said it looks good in the garage!

Sucks about the damage but worth a shot to see if you can fix it easily. Hope it works out.

To answer you original question. Yes I have put a smaller but equally annoying scuff in my splitter.
Made me immediately rethink about possibly changing the poverty splitter. I use the camera as much as possible now.
If you feel like you are a little too far from the curb, you probably are just right.

Ill be adding the poverty splitter on mine just for this reason, at $150 shipped I'd rather have it scraped and battered than the paint. Does suck though having it happen so quickly.

Well, just a suggestion but if you want to try something, try backing into the garage w. the passenger side to the wall. That leaves the driver's door wide to the aisle, and when you get good at it, you'll have somewhere betw.1-2 inches from the wall. Yes, it can be dicey. But swinging the driver's door wide plus not having to back out into a street makes it worthwhile for some.

It's hard enough making the turn into my garage forward I'll pass on backing it in, at least while I have three other cars on the driveway to get in the way of the turn.

I don't have a problem backing up it's the turn into the garage with other cars in the way. The car barely fits in the garage as it is. I have done it my C6 and it was tight but the extra width of the Grand Sport makes it at least seem tighter!
