Default Spice Red interior question

I'm prepping an order for a 2017 Z06 and I'm considering the Spice Red Interior Package. However, I have never seen this interior in person, rather only online. There was a local dealer who had a Stingray in stock with this interior but when I arrived to check it out, the car was already sold.

Until I find one in person to check out, my question, is on the actual color shade. In some pictures it looks like a dark red, in some pictures it looks more burgundy, and in some pictures it looks like tomato soup.

For you owners, what does it really look like and are you happy with the color?

Thanks!

Just my take. Loved the red/black combo in my C6. Hated the over the top "Adrenalin" red in the C7. Thought "Spice Red" was going to work before I ordered my 2016 until I saw it in person. As over the top Adrenalin is, Spice Red, again this is just me, was totally underwhelming, dull and boring. You have to see it person to tell if you will like it. I ended up with two tone in my 2016, like my C6, with adrenaline in the seat area and black bolsters. Love that combination.

My local dealer has a 2016 LBR Z06 with spice red. It looks ok but not a color I would choose for my interior.

I agree completely. I had seen a lot of full AR interiors. While beautiful, the were not for me. But the two-tone option is, to me, the best of both worlds. Love the shade of red, but like it toned down just a little with the black accents. Red stitching is a great touch too.

^^^^ I also like the two tone look, however I really want the comp seats which eliminate the option.

Its different in different light. It's a nice color. Probably right in the middle between the porno red and brownstone.

Maroon is the best description.

in the picture above, the best representation of the true color is on the far door.

MSG C5 I'm also a fan of Spice Red and I'm planning on ordering it in spring. I have seen in person a local dealer has LB with Spice Red 17 z51.My thoughts of how to describe color might be your Tomato soup but a little richer. I don't think I would call it burgundy or Wine it's not that dark. Tomato soup with just a richer red look to it . What I like most about it is it's richness and non brightness. What exterior color are you going with I myself can't decide on that yet.

Spice red is beautiful imo. i looked at the adrenaline red and realized it is too over the top in your face for me to deal with. Having said that I went with a twilight blue design interior in the end. good luck

here's some pics of one I fell in love with at Carlisle this year. thought for sure I'd end up in it lol

On a LBR Z06
Gorgeous combo and with those wheels.

Just like my C5 vert, I had an immediate "gotta have it" response when I first saw the C7 design back in late 2013. In typical GM fashion, I knew the Z06 would arrive a year or two later so I waited. I was ready to pull the trigger last May, but then I read about the planned cooling improvements, intercooler, etc. and thought I would wait until late 2016/early 2017 to make my move which leads me to this thread.

Although I love the C7 design, rear tail lights and all, I am equally disappointed in the color choices available. I think for an exotic looking design that mirrors that of a Ferrari, GM would have bolder color options. It seems they are doing the exact opposite and muting the design with darker colors that blend in with the Carbon Flash trim and have removed the brighter colors such as Velocity Yellow, Crystal Red, Daytona Sunrise Orange, Laguna Blue, etc. in favor of darker or less vibrant shades like Racing Yellow, Long Beach Red, Admiral Blue, and Black Rose. All nice colors, but I really want something bold that doesn't hide the fact that this is a sports car.

As a result, I'm leaning towards the basic Torch Red or Arctic White. If I go with Torch Red, I will probably stick with the Jet Black with Red Stitching interior as I like red but don't want a red/red combo. If I go with Arctic White, I will probably go with either Adrenaline Red or opt for the Spice Red package which is why I started the thread. The two-tone black/red seats are not an option as I want the comp seats. I've seen a few Arctic White Stingrays and Z06 coupes with the 3LT/3LZ Adrenaline Red interiors and they really pop! I know for some it may be too much and my wife even called it "hooker red" when she first saw it, but I like the contrast and the Speed Racer Mach 5 look matched up with the Arctic White. I just like the full red dash of the Spice Red which is why I'm considering it.

I'm also not crazy about spending another $3K on top of the 3LZ package just for another shade of red but I would do it if the Spice Red is a perfect match. I just need to see it in person before I decide. As a result, I'm not sure if I like the Arctic White/Tomato Soup like red combo. In some pics (below) the interior looks like a nice dark red, but in others, like the one above and especially in the sun, it looks washed out like a burnt red. I see why it works with Long Beach Red, however I'm not so sure with Arctic White.

Another issue I have with the Spice Red Package is that they swap the logos and lettering to chrome and add the 10-spoke package wheel which I'm also not sold on. I do however like the Shark Gray vents that come with the package, but I can still choose those for only $400 as a stand alone option if I go with Arctic White and Adrenaline Red. I would then add a painted Shark Gray stinger to the hood and perhaps a set of Forgeline AR1s in Transparent Smoke finish to match up with the Shark Gray.

Certainly, a first world problem!

Very classy dark red.......

I agree with one of the above post that lighting does play a factor. The one I saw was in show room bright lights and compared to post #11 the same color combo interior in post #11 looks a deeper red. I would checkout in person before ordering hopefully a dealer near you will have one I stock in the near future. Not sure but might be worth checking to see if GM is using that interior in a different model under another name were you could see. I'm thinking of going AW or Blade Silver. IF they bring back Daytona Sunrise Orange . I will go in that direction and forget Spice Red interior. So I'm waiting to spring Bash to see new colors.

If that's what it really looked like in daylight, I probably would have bought it. Photos of red can be very misleading and vary widely because of a number of reasons. As said before, you have to see it in person and under outdoor sun lighting.

I found this picture on Corvette Conti's website. Probably the closest to real life that I've seen and is a pretty close match to the color shown in BOBSZ06 photos above. I'm shopping a coupe vs. vert, but it provides a good look at the contrast between Arctic White and Spice Red.

Spice Red is hands-down my favorite interior, and I have yet to see a picture that captures its correct color. I'm amazed at the popularity of the Adrenaline, as it is so blindingly bright and abrasive (to me anyways). I am also surprised to hear the reviews of Spice Red as being boring or dull. I find it really rich and classy.

If you are someone who finds the adrenaline too bright but still like a classy, slightly darker, NOT bright red - you may love the Spice Red. It would look awesome with White. Would love to see BOBSZ06 (black exterior) in person - I bet it's amazing in person.

Totally agree with above re photos not capturing the color accurately - try to see it in person. I love it - very rich. Would go great with white, the different greys ( I have it with the Long Beach red and love it).

Thanks. There is a guy in my neighborhood who owns a Porsche 911 convertible. It's white with the dark red interior/top. I think it looks really good matched up together and although I'm getting a coupe, I still want the colors to match up well. Plus, I like the darker red brake calipers that come with the Spice Red package.
