People from Norway like C7s too!
While my wife and I were on a road trip this past fall, we stopped at Dry Falls State Park in Eastern Washington. Came out of the visitor center and saw, from a distance, several people looking at our DSOM C7, taking pictures, etc. We stayed back quite a way away so they could take their time, etc.
When we went up to the car, several more people gathered around. Turns out they were a tour group from Norway visiting several spots in the NW via bus. They started asking us about the car, were pretty amazed that we could fit enough stuff in it for a 2+ week trip, asked about the performance, etc.
Then one of the women said 'my son just loves these Corvettes' and asked if she could take some more pictures. I said 'why don't I shoot a picture of you in the car like you're driving it? You can text it to him'. She was hesitant but I opened the door, she handed me her phone, and we had a lot of fun.
Then the bus unloaded. Everyone on the bus came over to the car, asked us about it, asked my wife how she liked it, took several pictures, etc. We must have taken pictures of at least 20 of them sitting in the car. The bus driver was honking the horn because they were supposed to get on, but they didn't care.
We had a great time meeting them, and exchanged email addresses with a few of them and we've heard from them since.
When it was over and the bus left, they were all waving at us. Then my wife and I looked at each other and realized we were so busy taking pictures of them in our car with their cameras that we failed to take any of them ourselves - so the only one we have is below before we met them.
Lots of fun to share the car passion with others.

I do a lot of road trips to all the scenic ares out west, so I see/meet a lot of tourist from all over the world. While having a picnic lunch in Kings Canyon National Park, I met an older couple from Switzerland. We talked for about 30 minutes and not once was my Z06 brought up. They could care less(they were in a rented Taurus).
On another trip(I think I was somewhere in Utah), there was a Japanese couple with a 10 or 11 year son, at one of the scenic pull offs. The lady was 100% interested in my Corvette(her husband and son were off looking at the scenery). She was exceedingly well versed about Corvettes and she said that they had visited Bowling Green and toured the factory and the Museum.
Another trip was to the Indy 500 track with our club, to drive the track. We stayed at the motel(now long gone) that was under turn 2. We met a gentleman from Australia, that was very interested in our Corvettes and he was also well versed. I had a hard time getting my car washed in the motel's parking lot, as he was underfoot the entire time.
Just about every stop, there will be people taking photos(most want a photo of their "lady" standing in front of the car) with most of them being foreign tourist.

A buddy and I took a weeks trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota this past September. (I posted some pics in several other threads) We also visited Devil's Tower in Wyoming. While in the parking lot, a couple from Denmark was really impressed with my Torch Red C7. They asked a lot of questions, not just the normal run of the mill questions, but a lot of technical stuff. Turns out that the guy was a road racer, owned and sponsored a race team and traveled all over Europe with his race cars. We also exchanged email address. A month after he returned to his home land, he emailed me that he had placed and order and would be having his new C7 shipped to his shop. Apparently, he is planning to modify it for his race team. Said he would send pics when it arrived. I hope he follows through. Would be fun to see what he does with the car.

Very good stories being shared here. A Corvette does have a way of bringing people together and getting a conversation started.

Burning Brakes
Last summer my wife and I stopped here in northern NE at an ice cream stand in our 2016 z-51 vert. As we were waiting in line I noticed a 10 yr old boy and his Dad circling the car. So left the wife in line and went over to ask the boy what he thought of the car. He said that he had never seen a corvette up close in his life. His Dad kept telling him to keep away and not to touch the car. So I asked the boy if he wanted to sit in it, his Dad said no but I was ok with it. The boy got in and couldn't stop talking about it. He asked how it sounded so he got out and i started the baby up and juiced it a couple of times (always in track mode), the boy went crazy and said he wanted one just like it when he got his license. I told him if he got good marks in school, got a good job, didn't do drugs he could save his money and afford one. The Dad and now Mom thanked me, appreciated what i told the kid and insisted on paying for our ice cream cones. As we were leaving the boy wanted to see it go so I gave a little burn out as I nailed it on the way out. Sometimes it's the little things.

I'm a teacher and during the summer several of my colleagues and I meet up for dog walks, lunch or a few beers at a brew pub. I brought my C5 to lunch one day when one of my teachers brought his 10-year-old son. He was the only kid there and looked kind of bored and left out of all the grown-up talk. With the dad's permission I offered him a ride in my Corvette, a built LS3 stroker making 525 rwhp. Not too far from the restaurant there is a section of road that is 55 mph and has virtually no traffic. As I merged onto the road I nailed it, fishtailed a bit, and got to 60 in a blink of an eye.
He didn't say much, but when I next talked to his dad he said that ride was all his son talked about for weeks. Might've made a car guy outta the kid.

That's cool.
Last summer at the local Cars n Coffee a father and son showed up with their high school's exchange student from Madrid, Spain.
I had to talk him into seating in the car but after he finally got in, he got a kick out of it. Said they didn't have Corvettes where he was from.

I have enjoyed reading the above posts. Most people love cool cars and we are all ambassadors when it comes down to it. Although I haven't received my car yet (Long Beach red convertible ) that was ordered three weeks ago I have experienced the same thing with my Model T. People often ask questions, and older folks have Model T stories to relate. I have often had them sit in the car for photos. Can't wait to do the same with my Corvette when it arrives. Too much fun!
