Default Quality of red seats?

Putting together a build for a new C7 and thinking about going with red seats. I remember going to a party and the host had red leather sofa. Some kid spilled his drink, someone cleaned it with some solvent (dont know what) and the wife sat down with her white pants while semi-damped. She had slight red blemishing on her pants. Although it was hardly noticeable, the slight bleeding was definitely the couch as it was not her time of the month yet.

So we determined the red leather sofa was either made in China or not leather at all? Anyone experience this on their C7 Red seats?

Thanks in advance
Joe

Don't have red seats but all C-7 seats are coated and water just rolls off. The seats on the C-7 are a real upgrade vs the C-6 seats.

I have had Red Leather in the last three Corvettes I've owned....no issues. I love red interiors in sports cars! The Adrenaline Red color is awesome.

I'm sure a dozen more people will chime in with the same info, but you won't have any problems with color transfer or other issues with red seats.

Love the red seats in my C7. Never any issues at all. Wouldn't have bought it with any other color interior.

Default Love red seats...

I love my adrenaline red seats and I've had zero problems with them. Mine are 3LT Napa but both versions are coated so I wouldn't worry.

Good luck with your purchase.

I have red in my 2008 C6 and it has been no problem at all.....does not discolor or show dirt. Actually, it still looks pretty much new. After 9 years of getting in and out the drivers seat the outside "bolster" began to show slight signs of rubbing through the color in a spot about as big as a dime. I ordered some color specific matched dye from Leather World Technologies (Roanoke VA) and with a few simple "dabs" of their product on the spot, it matched to perfection and covered the spot...now looks new again...you cant tell anything was touched up (sorry for the advert here....just was really pleased with the result). Anyway....dont be afraid of red....I get many complements on the way it looks. (Floor mats in photo are from cocomats.com a great product also).

Have been using mats from "cocomats" in my sports cars for years, great guys to work with.

Generally speaking, solvents will break down and chemically melt things like dye.

Interesting story.. I'm just wondering why solvent was the choice to clean the sofa. I don't think you will have a problem with red seats....unless you clean them with solvent

*Never* use anything except a damp cloth or some leather-specific cleaner on your seats, and they'll last a very long time with no issues.

Another data point. Only 6000 miles on my C7, but the red looks like new. Like it toned-down a little with the two-tone option . . . Plus, it might be nice in the long run to have the bolsters in black.

^^^^ Dang Ed, I do love that color combo. It's sad GM charges you for it. Oh that's right, it's a profit deal.
