One is, as Gonzo pointes out in post 24, back in the day when a lot of us were first influenced by cars the wheels came from the factory as black. Occasionally they would be body color but never chrome. As we customized our cars we bought chrome wheels as an upgrade. Its hard for some of us to see black wheels as an upgraded option. And painted silver? Like just about every cheap POS..... um let me rephrase that, like a lot of cars you see on the main stream car lots? Never on MY Vette. I'm just sayin.
The second thing is the black wheels, though they are beautiful while your looking at them on a parked car or in a photo, they loose their identity when viewed from a distance or when in motion. Black spokes, black shadows, black tires. Nothing is distinguishable in the black blur. The chrome wheels have higher contrast, I think, when viewed from a distance and sparkle in the sunlight when in motion. I just prefer the chrome, personally.
There's lots of wheels available for our cars and they all look great. I'm glad we each can buy, or order from the factory as an option, the wheels we like best for our dream car.
Oh, and I have 10 grandkids from 3 to 20 years old.

OP. Looks great.
I had an 08 with factory chromes. switch to black chrome cup repos and it killed.
C7 with black wheels any color except that green (I just can't) looks fantastic.
