Default A8 trans temp gauge

Does anyone know what the a8 trans should be? When I scroll over to that gauge it has never moved away from 100 degrees reguardless of time driven. Granted it's been cool out every time I've checked it but after 30 miles shouldn't it be warmer than that. 2016 z51 a8.

Had the same question with mine. Dealer service department checked it out and said it was normal. Running in the 105 to 110 degree area.

Ok. Thanks. Maybe I just need to wait til it's warmer out then and can take it for a more spirited run to heat things up a bit

Mine stays around 100 around town in D mode. It did get up to around 200 on the track at VIR last August. I was in M mode and the ambient temperature was around 90.

Street driving.....especially HWY driving where the torque converter locks up in the top gears, you will not see any temps to speak of because the trans isn't breaking a sweat. When the TC locks up, it's the same as running a Manual....no slippage going on so no trans fluid heat being generated.

Now on the other hand, if you want to generate lots of heat, slide it on down into "M" mode and run a few qualify'er laps shifting at or close to RED LINE....that will put some heat in the ole trans fluid
