ZL1 or C7 to buy used near 10,000 miles ODM?
I look for HP where ever I can find it so I can worship it.
ZL1's sell in a wide range but their HP rating are the same.
Around 580HP near that in torque...3900 weight
Between 34,000 and 45,000 bucks but a 38,000 AVG
C7 are different but I find standard cars for 40 to 50,000 bucks
More or less for Z51's.
I go by power to weight ratio to predict speed, 1/4 mile mostly
C7 7.46 PWR 3300lbs by 460 HP
ZL1 7.06 PWR 4000lbs by 580 HP
I can save allot by buying a ZL1 and handling is nearly the same with those large 305's all around.
I'd save money by about 10,000 buck with the ZR1. Larger car different looks.
What do you think?

camaro is not a corvette...
like viper vs challenger
or mustang vs a ford gt
one is exclusive supercar territory the other is a pony car. each have their fans and following.
i couldn't see myself at 43yo going back to a camaro unless i was purely drag racing and wanted cheap cheap HP. and ability to strip the heck out of it. the vette is a cruiser GT car, a HPDE car, and a sprinter... plus it is borderline exotic..
and a ZL1 being 3900lbs is being generous.
an A8 1LT 17 Vette can be had for around 49k or so and will still whip a ZL1 in the 1/4mi.. procharged it will run 9's. think about that.

Sounds like you've answered your own question.
But at the end of the day with the ZL1, you have a Camaro which shares the same body with the weak-kneed, anemic entry-level 4-banger models.
Nobody will ever confuse the Corvette of looking like anything weak-kneed or anemic.
Get the Vette.

Next door neighbor bought a '15 ZL1 before I bought my Z51 and it's a nice ride. But it is a big, bulky car next to my sleek C7 which, in my eyes, looks much better. I had driven a 5th gen Camaro rental for a few days before and found it to be claustrophobic and extremely difficult to see out of - plus, I did not like the interior design/layout. I was looking for a dd when he picked up his ZL1 but, after seeing it, I realized I'd much rather go for the C7 and have not regretted it one iota. IThe C7 has been my dd for over a year now and I totally love it.
Even though you're not considering it, the new ZL1 is a different animal - looks better (still hard to see out of), goes better and is even better equipped so I might consider that but the pricing is way up there and availability is limited so I'm sure dealer premiums are boosting bottom line even more.

^^^Agree...I'd rather have any C7 over a ZL1 Camaro regardless if it's a 5th gen or 6th gen ZL1... Camaros are great performers and all and I'm a life long Camaro fan/owner and still have a '69 Camaro, but the C7 is just soooo well rounded for performance!
