A friend let me drive his ZO6 last night....thoughts compared to my Stingray
#21
I won't argue that...and I have a Z06!
The Stingray is a fine car and has all the power any sane person would need.
The Z is all about going fast in a big big hurry.
It's easy to play around with it and then suddenly notice the speedo says 100+ MPH.

the twitchy steering, the harsher ride, the way the tires grab the groove on an old highway. It's just like the other member described "raw".
I love my Z06.

Thank you. It looks like the move in will be about April. So I will be buying sometime right around there. Going to pay cash so will wait for the proceeds of the house sale. I have mine insured with Progressive and they have have been very good for me so far over the last 15 years.

Had to be fun driving the Z06. I've only driven the Stingray so far.

then, I happened to drive a Z06/7 auto and was so blown away I knew if I bought a stingray it would have to be blown.
I want the widebody so in end all things being equal the Z06 at 20% was the smart move and ticked every box for my dream supercar.
I do wish I never drove that Z07. And I also wish they didn't make a widebody. Because I'm a sucker for wide rearend lol

thanks man.
And who ever said it felt "raw" couldn't have used a better word it's perfect.
I wonder if you put an aftermarket blower it would give the same throaty exhaust not as the zo6.
I am not sure if it is the z07 package or not forgot to ask him but if I had to guess it probably is. He always gets the best if he's going to get something.

I find if you put the car in stealth mode and touring suspension it is amongst the nicest riding sports cars I've ever driven. I also found the steering 'twitchy' until I switched it to track mode. This weights the steering wheel better and felt more like what I'm use to coming out of a CTS-V coupe. That's another thing I enjoy about the Z06 over any other car I've owned. How you can adjust the suspension, the steering, and the exhaust. You can make it the car you want on any given day. Now full disclosure I still love driving in full track mode with the open exhaust. Intoxicating!

What brand did you install?
EDIT:
Found your post in the other section:
I am very happy with my eForce kit from RDP. I dyno'd 570 on 91 octane with colder plugs. No other mods.

That does look sweet though.
I'm going to be looking at a 17 Z when they have the big discounts in the fall, if anything like last year there should be some good buys.

That's how it always was on bikes. You had to apply brakes generously after making a pass, because you were soundly in "reckless driving" territory. And that's bad.
I actually like the "twitchy" steering. Some would refer to "twitchy" as "having good feedback."
There are a couple of places where the Z just shines in comparison to everything I've ever ridden or driven (I had Evos for years). That's at the apex, where the grip is just ungodly, and at corner exit, provided you have the discipline to avoid spinning the wheels, and eventually the car.
I could care less about straight line speed. Give me that corner handling. And my oh my does the Z have it. No clue how it compares to the other C7s in that respect. I have to assume they're very similar.

agreed cornering is where it's at. I will let you know how they compare we are suppose to go to the twisted sisters(bad *** curvy roads) in Texas soon. Some of the roads are really tight so his extra power shouldn't make that much of a difference on those sections. Will post back and let you know of course our driving abilities have some to do with that but me and him are both motorcycle road racers.

Can you, or someone else, explain exactly what this refers to?
BTW, you might recall I had a CTS-V coupe too.
The Grand Sport has the Z's grip according to mag reviews.
